Testimony begins in sentencing of Hill for murder of baby

Such a light sentence for such a heinous crime.

I can only believe that this was an accident. I knew that Justin loved that baby very much and that what happen had to be an accident. I pray that the Lord be tih him and his family and the mother of the baby as well. I also pray that the Lord lay a hand of forgiveness and grace on everyone.

I think it is important to remember that no one knows what really happened except for Justin, Cai, and God. And no matter what the truth really is, a baby still died because of what Justin did. Accident or no accident, there still has to be justice for the loss of an innocent, precious life.

I don't believe that happened on purpose. If he was going to hurt children intentionaly he had plenty of chances. God will deal with him. after all he is the only one other than Justin and Cai who knows the truth.

Ward County Ward County District Attorney Randy Reynolds said Wednesday his office
was pleased with the arson sentence handed down to a 24-year-old man.

Lee Ernest Frerichs was convicted of arson Tuesday in 143rd District Court. A jury sentenced him to 60 years in prison.

Frerichs was found guilty of setting fire to a home while his 2-month-old baby, the baby’s mother and the baby’s grandmother were all sleeping.

“We were on it over a day and presented 42 exhibits over the day and called witnesses,” Reynolds said.“Obviously the jury had a lot of patience.”

Reynolds said there were three factors for the jury to consider in such a long sentence:
>> The building Frerichs set

fire to was a home with people inside.

>> He had previously committed three felonies and had been in prison twice.

>> He was a danger in the future.

Since “attempted murder” is a second-degree felony, Reynolds said his office decided to pursue arson, a first-degree felony, because it had the potential for a longer sentence.

He got married while waiting for sentencing. This girl is from Westbrook and she has to be nutz. To be young and commit yourself to such drama and basically giving up your life for someone that is in a murder trial... I don't understand. I really don't understand marring someone that is going to prison?? And when you get married don't you think about eventually having kids? I am sorry but I don't think I would want to have kids with someone that is suspected to have killed a child. Maybe this was all to try and help him look better in court. I think it is crazy. I hope that girl realizes what she got herself into!!!

For your information, they got married AFTER he was sentenced to 12 years in prison! If you're gonna get on here and give your 2 cents and try and sound intelligent, at least know your facts!
She and Justin are more in love than any 2 people I know. "That girl" certainly realizes what she "got herself into." It's called UNCONDITIONAL love... something you probably know NOTHING about!

Having to worry about the child and it's father alone, because of the father's anger... oh oh oh wait maybe he was just "playing too rough". He is lucky to have gotten such a light sentence. Glad the trial was not in Colorado City he would have gotten away with it like that Westbrook kid that killed 2 people while driving drunk!! I have not heard of him going to jail!! We are too light on our small town hero's!!

Supporters of Justin or not... he still killed a baby! Don't sit there and say that he's more of a man than the guy who called him what he was: a murderer who deserves to be treated the same way he treated the innocent baby! I am from Colorado City and everyone knows he is guilty! Sadly, he got a light sentence... the baby, will never have a chance at life thanks to him. FYI, in high school I was friends with both Justin and the girl he got married to. Since then I have moved. People change for better or worse through the years. In both their cases they have grown worse. I could not see being married to someone in prison especially someone that is in prison for the death of a baby. Yes Austin Tx is correct, that baby has been deprived of having a life. That is the really sad part of this whole situation. Also I feel bad for Justin's friends and family who feel like they have to support him because of their relationship with them. These people may be stifling their own true feelings to look good for the hippocratic small town they live in. These people just don't want to look bad. Screw that I don't care how I am related or friends with someone,what is wrong is wrong! I will not sacrifice my beliefs for anyone!! Sheena get your head our of your ass and move on. You will be the one to support his ass if and or when he gets out of prison. Who will hire a baby killer... oh yah maybe your family will give him work. Sure hope so. I see a long road of heartake and stop signs in your futrue if you stay with him. Take my advise go have a normal life with someone that can give you a normal happy life!!!!

i know that whole family, and they are some messed up people to begin with. they actually had the nerve to act mad at the baby's family and friends around the court house through the whole process. if any of you defending him actually know him and his family , then you are just talking out your rear, because that is one horrible bunch that cares for nobody but them selves,and that goes for his mom, brothers, step brothers, sister and dad. they dont care who they take down with them.

Let's remember that only God can judge us. No matter what you thought you knew, three lives were forever changed to fulfill God's plan. Let's let God be the judge no matter how much you agree or disagree..
