lots of options were available. luckily the u.s of a doesn't practice the law as it was written . an eye for an eye . we are governed by extenuating circumstances and at any given time we all appreciate the leniency of our government. stallion , if you still had ears to hear or eyes to see or touch to feel or senses to taste or smell , then i would find a way to communicate to you that the mind should never be allowed to rest and just maybe you'd still be here . choices, decisions and consequences . the lesson is learned by those whom were left to die another day.

Tragic! It is a shame that it ended this way for jeremy. Bad choice and unfortunate consequence for it. Maybe someone will allow this to turn into something positive. Lot's of people are hurting and forgiveness and understanding are the only things left to help people to turn this into something good.

Only God knows what truly happened that night, however, I pray for BOTH families. This was not a pre-meditated shooting, it was an act of self-defense! May God be glorified through this situation.

Hi I am his cousin and I can tell you from what I have been told shooting someone twice is not self defence. Andrew had options -he could have left or called the police and the guy who went into the house could also have phoned the police. I am not saying my cousin was right for what he did but Andrew deserves at the least life in prison and I for one would like to see how u would feel if someone first shot off ur cousin's hand then proceeded to shot him in the pelvic and it exited his chest. He died in life flight , his mothers only child. How do you justify that? And yes I feel bad for their family b/c they breed evil. I pray God finds justice for my aunt who has to live the rest of her life without her son. His fault was being too good of a friend and not letting the police handle it. But Andrew had no excuse to still be there .

I am not trying to be hateful or cause anyone to be upset but thats just how it is - no matter what u have been told. Andrew knew he was coming - can some one please answer why he didnt just leave or call the police on my cousin. I'd rather visit a police station than a grave ne-day

If Andrew knew that Jeremy was coming and he made a choice to load a shotgun and use it, THAT IS NOT SELF DEFENSE. What kind of man can use his fist to punch a girl but can't stand up to another man without a loaded gun? What kind of man takes another human life and then posts his moods on his my space page as "triumphant" and "thankful"?

only andrew and the black guy that was holding the shotgun when they pulled up knows whether it was pre-meditated. once a threat is neutralized , use of force is scaled back towards detainment . the second shot was not defense .it was offense because he had to pursue him ,at which time jeremy was tending to his arm . eventhough , andrew isn't responsible for the first shot , the law will be forced to hold him accountable for the second. the girlfriend as well as the 5 others that accompanied him to commit a crime against andrew are accountable for the first shot , attempt to cause injury or bodily harm against andrew ,communicating a threat and depending on the collateral assessment of the district attorney maybe even an excelerated charge of intent to commit murder , mayhem or aggravated assault because supposedly jeremy was in possession of a weapon commonly referred to as a god. understands. nothing. g.u.n. the picture is not in puzzle form . i guess the d.a is putting off the consequences until after the funeral , since he refers to himself as "human". if it were a drug investigation ,then there wouldn't be any hesitation to file a charge and give those not so bad kids a way to snitch on someone bigger or a dealer . nothing for them to trade now except their i'm bored(s), i don't have nothing to do(s) and parties in for a plea , trial and/or prison cell . what are the tears really for ?

Jeremy and his family&Friends deserve justice, Andrew is held responsible for it all he loaded the gun and pulled trigger. not once but twice in knew what he was doing and no evil like that has any business walking the earth. Jeremy was a sweet heart and didnt deserve this neither did his mom or his girlfriend joy, not anyone! rip jeremy you will get the justice you deserve! L0OVEy0uu.

This whole situation is just crazy! NOBODY deserves to be murdered, no matter what! In my opinion... this whole thing would have probably had a different outcome if someone would have just called the cops... but instead, they took the law into their own hands. Wasn't 911 set up for emergencies?... if you are fearing for your life, why wouldn't you call the police?... Jeremy's family and friends need justice! We need to know that Andrew is getting punished for what he did. If he was man enough to pull the trigger (not once, but twice) then he is man enough to spend the rest of his life in prison...
RIP Jeremy!

In response to all of you who want to defend Justin and slam Andrew, I want to say that you obviously do not know Andrew. He is Not a cold blooded murderer as you would like everyone to believe. Andrew is a good guy from a good family.
Do you know, with out a doubt that Andrew was "beating up" this girl? Did any of you see it happen or see the evidence of it? If he did do this, then why didn't she or one of her "friends" call the police to handle it. Why did Justin and his friends think that they had a right to go to Andrew's home, armed with a gun, aim it at Andrew with the intent to extract their form of justice. Whether or not Andrew knew they were coming he shouldn't have had to leave his own home to avoid someone who had no right to be tresspassing on his parents property as was suggested by Justin's cousin. I believe that if Justin hadn't felt he had to confront Andrew with a gun, then Justin wouldn't have been killed. If someone came to my home, with a gun, and aimed it at me, I probably would have done the same thing.
Don't place all of the blame on Andrew. The girl is at fault for bringing the guys in on her problems, and Justin is at fault for taking the law into his own hands. I feel for Justin's family because they lost someone they loved. I also feel for Andrew and his family because they will have to live with this for the rest of their lives. There were no winners in this. EVERYONE LOST!!!!!!

OK.... his name is JEREMY! and i'm not putting all the blame on Andrew... but he's the ONE WHO PULLED THE TRIGGER! are you saying Jeremy is at fault for taking the law into HIS own hands?! Jeremy was NOT the one who shot a gun and KILLED someone.. what if your child was the one who ended up dead? would you still be saying that?
