Laura and I would like to extend our deepest appreciation to all of you who have extended your thoughts and prayers to us over this campaign. Obviously, we had hoped for a better outcome, however, such was not the case. I could pepper you with dozens of cliches, most of which I heard tonight - and all of which I know are true in faith. I will resist the urge as best I can to disect play by play a campaign that could have taken a different route, the most powerful one being things that I could have done differently. If I disappointed anyone in my efforts, please know that I learned politics on the fly and am sorry if I have let you down. For now, I have an office staff that I will need to tend to and would ask that you keep them in your prayers as well. God bless you, and thank you.- Anthony N. "Nino" Sylvester

This is what happens when you run on a sense of entitlement rather than on your accomplishments. This gentleman had no accomplishments to run on. In 9 years, NOTHING he can be proud of or say he did.
He lost in EVERY precinct!

A nice statement. I did not vote for him but wish him luck away from the ugly world of Hopewell politics.

Mr. Sylvester,

I hope you will (or have already) done the right thing and called to congratulate your opponent. No matter how you feel about the campaign, or how badly you feel about your loss of the election, it is the professional, right, and moral thing to do. Mr. Newman gave blood, sweat and tears to this campaign just as you did. You never had to run against anyone before. Finally you had to face a proper campaign and a worthy opponent. Be gentleman enough to give him his due.

I think the best thing you can do for yourself at this point is concede, swallow some humble pie (all of us real humans have to do it occasionally) and consider how this experience can better you as a person. I think many people felt that you tried to project one image about yourself, when many of us unfortunately have seen what we consider to be your "real" side. If you want people to believe in you, you can't continue to go after whoever you seem to think is some sort of threat to you with such a horrible vengeance. You have hurt so many people, and it has finally caught up with you. Can this experience possibly help you to realize you need to try to be a better person (not just SAY you are a religious or righteous person, but actually practice what you preach in all areas of your life)?

Hopefully I speak for most in saying that no one wishes you or your family ill, although in all fairness you have set out to ruin more than your fair share of other people without the least regard to them or their families. I'm not talking about criminals; I'm talking about law-abiding fellow Hopewell citizens you perceived as a threat and sought to destroy. Folks can be forgiving if you put it out there that you're willing to change.

Congrats to Rick Newman! Finally Hopewell is taking a step in the right direction and cleaning out the deadwood. I hope Rick finishes the cleanup and takes a close look at the office staff over there. I remember reading about that secretary that cussed out the receptionist and another secretary that leaked case files to criminals. I don’t know if it’s true but if it is then get those types of people out of there! Let some honest, professional people work in that office for a change!

Is Newman capable of prosecuting a criminal case? Honest? How do you know he is honest? He is still an unknown in town.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Aquarius

Be careful now, because you could easily give someone the wrong impression and not even know that you're doing it. This is most likely to happen if you're trying to pussy-foot around them or avoid offending them, because that's when things could get lost in translation. You also have a tendency to sit on the fence now, which could make you seem slightly untrustworthy or shifty if you aren't careful.
