Would you prefer a bus accident? I say that tongue in cheek but it seems that in today's world of litigation, the school (nor their insurance company) would want to take a chance.

What do you expect? the town charges no tuition and provides bus service free to the county kids. It's not the town kids who can't make it to school,it's the county Kids/teachers who need the cancellations.

Most school districts have built in "snow days" on their school calender that does not effect the projected last day of school. Not sure if CB has used their "snow days" but if they have , they can shorten spring break, use teacher work days, memorial day weekend, etc to balanc e the school calender. This would allow the last day of school to stay as it is. Va law states that students must have 180 days of school
-Seriously-

Unless someone screws up the calendar as was done a few years ago and Graduation was the two or three days before school was let out because they had to go longer to make the days...

Put yourself in the shoes of the person having to make this decision. I know if it were myself and considering your dealing with buses loaded with kids and young drivers, I would go the cautious route. Take a look at the pounding that the superintendent of King George took for not cancelling and the accidents that resulted!
