Webb: Blogger's accusations false, politically motivated

There is a lot of detailed information and lots of stuff on the internet. IF said parties are involved unethically, then I'm sure there is a paper trail somewhere.

so if i read all that right:

YES Andy Webb has worked for disanto in some capacity for going on two years now?

yes, the county gave land to disanto and if he doesn't have a 1,000 sq. ft. facility in play with employees by this coming april he has to pay back $50,000 for 4 acres in an industrial park with water and sewer hook ups ready -- wow good deal huh?

yes, disanto is working on several contracts under two different business names presently for the McDowell County Schools providing work through 2011, yet states its not enough money to build or employee here in McDowell County?

i just dont like the sound of my tax money being involved in any of this

what about the DSS connection was Webb on the committee or approved the hire of Phillip Harding

then phillip harding now employees webb

why was that not mentioned in the response

looks right on the money actually

that response danced all around the issues and tried to make it all right, when actually they were all pretty much admitting the paper trail was accurate.

definitely more accurate now than what i thought prior to the response for sure

There are also 2 other county commissioners who each have a tie to MTCC and the EMS. Seems like a conflict of interest to me.

for me the difference is two of them had their jobs prior to running for commissioner;

didn't webb obtain jobs at foothills industries, with disanto, and now DSS all AFTER he was elected?

"Webb told The McDowell News that he had no association with DiSanto when that agreement was made in October 2007. He added that he recused himself from discussion and votes in April when the original agreement was amended (and the agreement cited above was drafted)."

? so webb, when the vote was amended in April had been employed by disanto since the previous month of march 2008 ? recusing self or not i am not so sure this was all ok does not feel right to me

As Chairman of the county commissioners, Andy Webb should never involve himself in any business deal which even has a hint of impropriety. You can't serve in that capacity, and then be a sales Rep or marketing consultant for a company that is also bidding on work for the county.This is what bothers me:

"Andy serves in a couple of roles," he said, "doing marketing and potentially sales at some point. His work doesn't approach full time"

This type of relationship should be grounds for a recall of Andy Webb.

Andy Webb will never beat Joe Sam Queen. So, the senate race is a moot point.

Unfortunately Greasy Queen is barely the lesser of two evils.

disanto is shady, better watch him!

One thousand Square feet is about 2/3 size of a normal house in this county. That is a building that is 40 feet long and 25 feet wide. If the owner hasen't had the money to build a 1000 square foot building since he got the land it seems a pretty sure bet the county will get the land back if they actually hold him to the contract.

Are you serious? This was a blogging topic and the lazy reporters at McDowellScrews picks it up and runs it, no investigation - no nothing. I think I will start a rumor on the blog - do you think it will be come NEWS by simply being printed in that rag by a lazy reporter? Now I see why this paper is having such a hard time making it - they pay reporters to do nothing.
