Questions about snow tubing at Spring Mountain for a rookie...

1) Should the kids (and/or adults) wear helmets?
2) How do the tubes stop? Is it a gradual uphill or into something?
3) How do the tubes and people get back up the hill?
4) Do you need a season pass or is it just a one time fee?
5) Do other PA resorts offer tubing?

There isn't much info on their website about tubing.

Helmets not really but a good hat that won't fly off is fine.
Depending on the age, the parents can just hold the child's tube ad they control it. You will need to drag your feet to slow done. If it is really icy even your knees so I would wear snow pants. To get up hill there is a pulley system that they hook the tube up to and you sit in the tube for the ride up. The tubes stay at the hill so you get a different one each time. There is no season pass, so you pay for a four hour session. This is the same everywhere. Other places offer tubing but spring is close. I would call ahead because most places like spring sell out on weekend or plan to get there before opening. There is some info on their site and even a webcam that sort of shows tubing on the left side.
It is a lot of fun but can get pretty cold since you can stand in a line if they are busy. This is the same everywhere. It is not like skiing where you are moving around a lot. Also they are opening the Woodside inn just down the street to catch a nice meal afterwards.
Enjoy!

Drop the kids off & set 'em loose. Then, do as Springskier suggests & go to the Woodside & get hammered for 4 hours.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Taurus

Get involved in financial transactions at your peril under today's Lunar Eclipse, because certain people will use them as a stick to beat you with. For instance, if you ask someone to lend you money they'll either make you feel guilty about it or dredge up all sorts of past instances when their trust was betrayed. You would also be well advised to avoid any show of possessiveness or jealousy, even if you feel it, unless you truly don't care about the disastrous outcome.
