According to this link...there's going to be an Olive Garden in the new Providence Center. I've heard of an Olive Garden going in every time someone turns over a shovel full of dirt. Can anyone confirm this??

I agree with you, as I heard the same thing about the Olive Garden being mentioned whenever someone discussed any new retail center around Collegeville -- but now it's true. The company leasing the site (Brandolini) lists the Olive Garden among their "confirmed" tenants, along with PF Chang's. Finally! Glad to have new restaurants around here. |

Has anyone been to the new Olive Garden? Any good? Olive Gardens are always awesome or awful, no in-between. I am hoping for an awesome one!

Our family went last week. The food was good, and the service was super-friendly. Very crowded, even on a Tuesday. I imagine that will change, but our experience was a good one!

This one is good - but I reccomend taking advantage of the Carry out feature - in, out - 10 min. No waiting on a 45 min line!

Went there the other night. Got there at 5pm and waited 30 minutes. Food was good and very affordable.

Went tonight, on a Monday. There was a 20 minute wait at 4:45pm. A ton of people were waiting when we left.
I am quite disappointed. I had the "Tour of Italy" and it was very, very salty & overprocessed. I am not a picky eater, but it really was not that great. The person I was with had the bruschetta with shrimp appetizer as an entree, and that was very salty, too. The one thing I did like, though, was the chicken & gnocchi soup. Very good. IMO, Olive Garden is not that great. I've been to the one in Florida, and the food is really fresh & good. This one is just the usual chain cooking, and too overprocessed. You can get a tastier Italian meal at Rocco's or DaVinci's. I will not be going to Olive Garden again. Hopefully, PF Chang's will be better. I do have to mention that the service was good, though, and the staff very friendly and competent. |

We have such a myriad of good Italian options in our area that aren't chains, I'm really surprised that there is a 45 minute wait on a Monday or Wednesday night. I mean free salad and breadsticks are great, but I'd rather stick to the real Italian non-chain options in our area. Wish La Fontana in collegeville was still open, that was my favorite local Italian place.

Tried it Monday late afternoon about 4:30 pm.
Very disappointed. Terribly slow service, tables jammed too close together, clearly overwhelmed waitstaff and long waits between and entrees. Prices were very high in comparison to other chains. I expected an upgrade from the usual Applebees/Chilis/Ruby Tuesdays but frankly it's the same except for pricing that is 20 to 30% higher for the same quality of food. We won't be back. PF Changs can't open soon enough for us ... we drive to the Glen Mills location a couple of times a month and have never been let down. |

If you are looking for good Italian, try the Piazzo place behind the Wawa on Ridge and Lewis Roads in Limerick. We have been there three times and the food is awesome. The pasta is fresh and the stromboli is made onsite. Their menu says they were voted the best Pizza in the Philadelphia area. We haven't had the pizza but based on the pasta and the stromboli, we believe it's probably delicious. I forgot to mention, the meatballs are delish, they are real meatballs that just melt in your mouth.

Are you serious? It's an Olive Garden. They're almost all the same. Same food, same prices, same quality. The only differences normally are the quality of the servers. Olive Garden is what it is. Reliable, decent food. Not the best, but not the worst. Pricing is also pretty reasonable, giving that you get salad and breadsticks. |

To each his own. I'll stick with Changs. |

Chink!
