There should be no fire-fighters that are volunteers. Fire fighters should have a salary and take a shift at the fire department's local facility. They not only should have a paycheck but a place to keep their "ready-to-go" fire fighting clothing and accessories they need to hop on the truck and be ready in a moment's notice. Having to wake up to a phone call at home, that a fire has started ten miles from where they are means, getting up, getting dressed, driving to the fire station, getting prepared there, while a house is burning to the ground. This is not fair to the residents of the county where fire fighters are "Volunteers."

What's wrong with this system? Everything.
