Death count right now is up to 7, not 4 as reported here.

So 90% of the town was destroyed.... I wonder how big this "town" was, and find it interesting that this news report doesn't mention any population numbers.

Hee Haw salutes Whatchacallit, Kansas, population 25. Saaaa-lute!

Nevertheless my sympathies go out to the poor residents involved.

Well, "hmmm", the poplulation IS over 25, and if you're "smart" enough to post a comment, perhaps you should have googled the town's name and informed yourself before your pathetic "saaa-lute". I find it hard to believe your sympathy is very sincere.

1600 people in this small tight nit community... Prayers and volunteer work will have this town back to working conditions sooner than imaginable...

More bad weather and evacuations will impede the search and rescue for more survivors..

Horrific...Thank god for warning signals...

Thoughts and prayers to the families of this small town...

Why try explaining. What does it matter how many people were in the town? One life lost is too many, agree?

Good, hard working, salt of the earth people who could use a break about now.
The town celebrated 100 years in 1986. In 20 minutes it was pretty much obliterated. Unprovoked I might add.

explain the article to us all b/c it clearly read 95% although I don't think that would make much of a difference. either way nearly the whole town was destroyed. my prayers go to the victims.

"Not having the National Guard equipment, which used to be positioned in various parts of the state, to bring in immediately is really going to handicap this effort to rebuild," Sebelius said..

Anyone want to guess where all the National Guard equipment is currently located?

Bear this in mind come August if Florida has weather "issues".<sigh >..Better and better..

I think the National Guard should be here helping our people in need...any delay because of equipment being in Irag is unacceptible....The Federal government (Fema) should of had people on the way the night of the storm instead of waiting for the Governor to ask for help....Just goes to show you that the Government is run by idiots.....Hope we don't have any hurricanes...we will be screwed.....I hope this small town gets back on there feet real soon....I am from a small town up north...I am sure everybody will pull together to get things to somewhat back in order...It will take a long time....good luck...

Hey, those people in Iraq need that equipment more than Americans in need do, don't they?

We have a winner! You guessed correctly.

Anyone else feel like they're living in the Twilight Zone, politically speaking? Our citizens can't get the equipment they need to help rebuild in our county, because it's not IN the country.

What good is praying going to do?

These people need help.

Maybe "God" or whoever your praying too was punishing them for being bad...
