The Ward 5 seat in Colbert has been vacant for many months. It is a surprise to me that the OML, State Election Board, or some reputable entity has not forced the board to call an election to fill The vacancy. The state law requires a muncipality to call an election within 60-90 days following any vacancy that councils do not fill by appointments. Ward 5 was not even listed as vacant when the electins were called for April 2009? Did the Council even know this??? Do we have a ghost member under the table?? How is Colbert Council getting by with another of its illegal tnansactions? Is it because the people that should know do not know, or had they rather steer clear of Colbert as long as they can. Probably the latter, as it is really hard to fix stupid. Concerned citizen
