I was betrayed, misled, lied to and so many other things when (even before) I went to work at the new Amazon fulfillment in va., last month. I had quit my previous job, bought a car to get there, my hours and shift were changed, the start date was delayed, etc. I no longer work in this horrible, inhumane place! First of all, I'm not lazy, and can work circles around most but, their expectations are all but impossible. I've even worked in warehouses with temps over 100 degrees and managed. Anyway, after 3 weeks, some of us were "verbally" warned (I signed a paper so, I call that a write up)because our pick production rates were not up to their standards. There were reasons for this beyond our control such as, a 1.2 million square foot warehouse, as many as 7 people stocking or counting on one isle at a time, and wouldn't let you through even when asked nicely, etc.. A meeting was held and we were told if we were unable to do the job properly, didn't like the work, etc. they were offering us a $1000 (within a 24 hr. window) to resign, and could never work there again...boo hoo! Seeing what this slave driven sweat shop was up to, I got the hell out. No doubt the ones that stayed will soon leave with nothing. New hires were coming in almost daily. They said that's for peak season but that's b/s. It's also because employees are being fired or quitting constantly. Because of the size of the bldg. and their rules, you worked up until noon, then walked to the time clock, punched out, went through security, to your locker, and had to be back by 12:32pm, no matter what time you managed to punch out. So your lunch break was no more than 20 mins. but you were docked for 30. That doesn't seem like much until you add it up. Amazon is making 10 mins. off of each person, with well over 1,000 workers. It's a sad, pitiful situation when you're afraid to go to the bathroom because your rate will drop further. Oh yeah, they monitor your every move, and question everything you do. I'm wondering what these @#*holes will do when there are no more people in va. to hire? Don't really care, just curious. Hope I find a job soon, before I lose everything. Working at Amazon, is the biggest mistake of my life! Unless you're a non-human spieces, or have super and/or magical powers, I would steer clear of Amazon...consider yourself warned. Beware!

was stealing time from the company. During peak when the trucks would turn into the wrong entrance the traffic would back up to the light and into the road. So instead of being early my son and I would be just at 7:30 when I would get to the front entrance. He had to clock in at 7:30 or he was late. So I would pull over and park go in and tell security what had happened. We both would hit the clock and I would go try to find a parking place which was always on either one side of the building or the other. It would take about 5-8 mins to make it back to the turnstile and enter the plant. That happened three times from Nov 29 - Dec. Once I had to go back to SMX and explain to them that my son was going to have to get a root canal and seems like we talked about something that I had made and if it was working out. Well those times they considered stealing time from the company. I told them that if I would have knew that then I would have used my PTO time because I had 34 hours or more. I even said to take my PTO time away that I have now & cover those minutes. Still this HR lady up front name Aron would not change it. So Glenn said to file an appeal. I left & talked with corporate HR and they said to call my HR. I did but our HR told me I had to use the legal process. After that I called back corporate HR and that's when two people I talked to said to fill an appeal because they had never heard of something like that with no warnings or anything. And Corp. HR sent a email with the appeal process form attached. I need my job and I really loved my job. If I ever though I was doing something that would get me fired over then I would not have done it. Hopefully our GM understands because he has the option of reinstating my job/position. Also if we had an appeal process then a group of people from our FC would have the final say. Not a HR dept. that this lady Aron called to find out what to do & acted like she did not care that my job was being taken away for what I seen as part their problem with trucks with no signs like the one we have now to guide them to the right entrance. I've worked thru so many breaks since I've been hired that if anyone owes anyone its the other way around. When i told my wife that I had been fired & the reason why. She did not understand at all. Just like me it was like she had hit brick wall. I'm at a loss because I really loved my job. I don't know what else to say. Thanks for reading my post.

Dear dumbass who claims to have worked at a Va FC...I say your full of shit. If you ever lived in the Va area you know they have tons of people, it's quite the populated state. So your silly prediction of them running out of workers, like the rest of your post is complete bullshit.
An yes, your a dumb ass. Who transfers cross country, or wherever you came from, and doesn't get shit in writing? Thats right..a lazy dumb ass who thought they were cream of the crop but in reality you were the big turd that sinks to the bottom.
Lets see at lest 3 of their fc's in the Va area are near major cities..Richmond, Fairfax county (thats northern va for you numb nuts) and the 3rd near a college town. You really think they care you quit? LOL. They don't you fool, nor does anyone on here, cept the idiot who can't write in proper English, or the moron who thought Amazon was going to leave Coffeyville back in 2012.
Maybe you 3 should get together, find a rock to crawl under and hold each other till you feel better.
Till then, stfu and quit your damn crying. An get the fuck out of Va, they don't need anymore lazy ass people sucking up all the public funds.
Signed,
Someone who knows your full of shit.

If you think filing a issue with the Ethics Hot Line will really get anything investigated, think again. Especially if it involes a manager or HR. That has to be the biggest joke of the century. If your issue is with an associate, they are all over that, but if it is one of the managers- forget it.
