I've been hearing tons of rumors about an Applebee's being put in by the new Walmart in the near future. Anyone else hear anything?

God I sure hope so, I think a place like that would be great here. I myself am in the younger crowd, mid 20's. Just somewhere to go have a beer on a saturday and watch some football with buddies would be nice. You honestly cannot go to any restaurant in Coffeyville from 11-1:30 without it being packed. I would almost guarantee they would do great business and not run out local establishments.

Eggberts has poor management and training practices. It's that way in all the stores.

I'm sure Applebee's would have a corporate training program in place in which it would help to teach some of the deadbeats in town to actually fulfill some sort of expectations...

I would love to have APPLEBEES . but I hope that they will have better management and training than the new places we have gotten here.. They dont have a clue what they are doing have the time, you never get plates removed or refills.. I work in a restaurant and never treat my customers like that. So you may call us "debbie downers" but just stating the fact that if they come they need to have alot better service than other places have, otherwise they will do just like eggberts has and lose business from alot of people!!!!!!!

Applebee's Franchise Requirements:
Applebee's development agreements generally require a franchisee to build and operate a minimum number of restaurants in a particular geographic area within a period of three to seven years. This requires prospective franchisees to have a substantial net worth and cash availability position. We generally require a minimum US$1,000,000 net worth for each restaurant scheduled under our multi-unit development agreement with additional minimum requirements for liquid/cash assets. We also prefer that our franchisees have someone on their team with multi-unit foodservice or retail experience.

I believe the Tavern on the Plaza has the best trained help and management I've seen in this town in years.

ah the ol Applebees in Cville Rumor. Just like Big Foot and the Abominable Snow Man. Pathetic that this town gets so worked up over what, anywhere else, would be considered average at best.

Just seeing businesses come into town is a sign of hope. Aside from fast food, restaurants are quite limited and it is highly possible that a decent one would do good here.

Major restaurants do not come to towns like this because there is not enough people to support them. They have requirements on the size of the town they can put them in.
