I can't stand living in Dundalk anymore.

I grew up in Dundalk, the neighborhoods look like crap, there are to many drug addicts living in Dundalk.
I don't feel save walking to the shopping center.

Sex offenders live all over the Dundalk Area, I checked it out and I seen guys I grew up with on there I was shocked.

I completely agree with the sad state of Dundalk. I moved out of there almost two years ago because of the crime, white trash neighbors, and schools. I worked in the school system and many people would be shocked if they knew who you are leaving your child with everyday. Some of the school employees, subs, etc. are known drug users. I even went as far as to tell school administrators of those who were using on a daily basis and was told there was nothing that could be done becuase the public school system does not drug test. You have to be drug tested to work at DAP and many other companies but not those who are suppose to be our children's role models. Something is wrong.
The only people who truley call Dundalk ther home can be seen on Jerry Springer...I guess you can say that Dundalk is Jerry's green room.

DUNDALK IS LIKE ANY OTHER BLUE COLLER NEIGHBORHOOD, YOU HAVE THE GOOD AND THE BAD. YOU JUST HAVE TO TAKE THE GOOD WITH THE BAD AND MAKE SURE YOU AND YOURS MAKE THE GOOD BETTER AND DONT MAKE THE BAD WORSE. IT ALL STARTS WITH GOOD RESPONSIBLE PARENTING.

I have lived in Dundalk for 38 years. Dundalk is made up of a community of hard working and respectable people.I live in a very nice neighborhood and know most. Not one drug addict or sex offender here. Its the uneducated and uncaring riffraff that come into our community and says these things. There are problems in any area, where ever you may live.So instead of not liking Dundalk either get involved or put that for sale sign in the front yard so that someone who appreciates a good community can enjoy it.

Well... I lived in Dundalk for over 30 years My husband and I are Dundalk graduates. My 3 children went to Dundalk Elem, Jr and Sr schools. My children graduated with no problems (one finished 5th in her class)and went on to find successful careers. If you apply yourself and have proper parenting anyone will have a chance. We moved to a new home development in Essex and found that we are surrounded with crime. I never felt that way living in Dundalk. I have a search helicopter flying over my house almost every week looking for someone who robbed or shot someone. I dont regret ever living in Dundalk.

I know exactly what you mean. We moved out of West Inverness after 17 yrs. They now have gangs and criminals everywhere. The drugs are everywhere also. I had some good neighbors but the bad ones more than made up for it. Moving out was the best thing we could have done. I don't miss it at all. We now live in Arizona. What a great difference. I still email some people back there and it has gotten much worse in the last year. I'm thankful we got out.

I LOVE DUNDALK! Your either in or out. If you chose to move fine. But don't put down what other people love about the community. Sure we have drug problems but name someplace that does'nt. Heck Los Angeles to Key West they have drug problems. Life long members of the community love it here and are planning to spend the rest of their lives in this community. If you look hard enough at any community you will find the bad. We have so much more to offer. Our parks the waterfronts the rec councils its all here and if your involved in the lives of your children Dundalk is a great place to raise children. WE did and have two very wonderful children to show for it.

Please read the following. I hate to point this out to everyone, however no matter where you live you don't know what is going on next door to you. You can not judge by what you see. Apparently one person on here has stronge opinions and must have had some personal againest Dundalk.

APPRECIATING DUNDALK
Area ranked 15th in U.S. in rising of home values
by Joseph M. Giordano
They say money talks. And last week it was screaming about Dundalk. Money magazine, that is.
On July 18, the New York-based magazine published its annual Best Places to Live in America list of cities, and Dundalk ranked 15th in the magazine's top 25 for home appreciation, according to the CNN/Money Web site.
Houses in the area increased in value by 36.3 percent in the past year, the Web site said.
Dundalk was ahead of towns in Florida, Hawaii and Arizona. Top-ranked Providence, R.I., saw a 52.4 rise in home prices last year.
Money based its findings on data from the median home sale price, which was actual sales collected from county and municipal assessor's offices for 2005, according to Gabrielle Solo-mon, a senior producer for the Web site.
The article did not mention how area boundaries were identified - whether, for instance, by “Dundalk” the list was referring just to ZIP code 21222 or whether other parts of Greater Dundalk were included.
To residents, a quick appreciation of housing prices can mean something other than national recognition.
“Appreciation is all well and good,” said Bob Nozeika, president of the Eastwood Residents and Business Association of Baltimore County.“But what it's doing is raising the property tax. And no one likes that.”
In 2005, the Bridgewood Drive resident paid about $61 more in property taxes on his home than in 2004.
“It's not too much, but it's still going up every year,” Nozeika said.“And that can be a problem for some people.”
Nozeika has noticed the housing prices rise over the past year.
“It's unbelievable,” Nozeika said.“I know things have to go up in price, but there are homes in [Eastwood] going for $150,000 when last year the same house might have [gone] for $90,000. It's ridiculous.”
But the longtime Eastwood resident doesn't fault the sellers for the spike in home costs.
“More power to you if you sell your home for that much,” Nozeika said.“But there comes a point when you have to ask what are people willing to pay to live here.”
More and more, they're willing to pay a decent amount to live here, according to Melissa Schisler, an agent with Progressive Property Real Estate on Holabird Avenue.
Though Schisler hadn't read the Money magazine article, she agreed with its assessment.
“I've seen house prices in Dundalk go up about 50 percent in five years,” Schisler said on Tuesday.“It's amazing. The [Money] story doesn't surprise me.”
Schisler, 24, has been in the business for about six years and is seeing more and more young families look at Dundalk and the surrounding areas like Edgemere and Eastwood as a place to come and live.
“Most of my clients are from somewhere else,” Schisler said.“A lot of young people are looking at this area. It's definitely up and coming. I'm seeing a lot of young, professional, single people buy here as well.”
A home in Old Dundalk that went for about $80,000 last year might go fr up to twice that now, according to Schisler.
“Things are starting to level off because of the rising interest rate,” Schisler said.“But if the interest rate was still so low, there's no telling how high the prices for Dundalk houses would go.”

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Capricorn

Take things slowly and all will be well. However, you must resist a tendency to be perfectionist over things that don't really matter, otherwise you'll never finish the chores. If you're busy with Christmas preparations, you'll have to control a nagging feeling that you've got to compete with the way other people have done things in the past.
