Just in case you are not aware, there is a web site that is updated regularly about Tara. It's findtara.com . It has the guestbook and upcoming events due to the fact that on Oct. 22, it will have been a year. Please have all of Tara's family in your prayers. I am sure everybody could use it.

The website has not been updated in quite a while....that makes ya wonder, doesn't it? I wish I knew what happened to her....I knew her from Hawkinsville.

Hey Trixie, I would be interested in your thoughts regarding Tara. I am counting on the GBI( i hope that doesnt come back to haunt me) doing their job. If the FBI is involved, even better. I am working from Canada, i have had to dig deep into the small towns to get info. We have come to know and appreciate all who have assisted, especially those in Perry, Warner Robins, and Wray Ga. You have made us feel very welcome in the USA. If there is anything you would like to share, I am here. |

There are many, many rumors, as there are within a case like this. So many different rumors, some just downright ridiculous. It is hard to distinguish fact from fiction in a small town. Personally, and this is just my opinion, I have two theories. (1) She just got fed up with the drama in her life that she just up and left. I know it doesn't make sense, people would like to think that she wasn't the kind of person who would do that, but you never, EVER know what someone will do unless you are in that exact situation. It wouldn't have been hard to accomplish. She was a beautiful woman with long dark hair. A 6 dollar bottle of hair dye and a chopped off haircut and she blends in with nicely. Feasible, but who knows. (2) She was abducted by someone she knew and what happened then remains a mystery. We have no solid proof that she is dead, so there must be that miniscule amount of faith that she'll turn up somewhere. Meanwhile, as bad as I hate to say this, Irwin County is over 40% marshy land, with plenty of creeks and lakes and swampy areas. Well, you can see where I am going with this. Alligators don't spit out bones. And there are PLENTY of alligators in south georgia. I truly, truly hope that she will be found alive and well. I wasn't one of her best friends but I knew her pretty good. I'd really love to see her again.

it agree it does make u wonder why the page hasnt been updated in awhile |

I realise it does not look good for Tara, these are my fears too. As for folks and rumors, its going to be part of the package, sad though. As to the Topix page, maybe they are trying to keep her name out there. I can only hope. I am sure Taras family would burst if she walked in the door, but i dont think it will happen. I believe someone hurt Tara to the point she'll never be back. |
||||
Maybe thats a good thing Mel. I bug the papers for storys and they say "but if there is nothing new, there is nothing new." I dont want them makin stuff up, i want her found. |
||||
no evidence,no leads,no one saw anything,no one knows anything, makes you think its family related hope not,but who knows. |
||||
It doesnt make me think that. As to evidence and leads, GBI does not share info. We may not know of leads. And i truly believe someone knows something. |

I'm not gonna touch that with a 10 foot pole. I will say these two words though: Failed Polygraph |

Because there is no news. |
||||
yea i bet,news but just not for us to know |
||||
I agree with you Mee. I believe its a waiting game for the GBI. Patience is a virtue, posess it if you can, often found in woman, seldome found in man. |
||||
Just looking for you. |
||||
Hi Sue. No news from down here in Hawkinsville about Tara. If they are still searching for her, it isn't in the public eye. It is truly, truly sad. |
||||
Thanks Trixie, I appreciate hearing from you. Southern ways can make it hard to talk to folks, most dont want to get involved. If you ever want to chat, I am around. TIA |

To Sue and anyone else interested in this case...here is the latest update.
MACON, GA -- Irwin County Sheriff Donnie Youghn says cadaver dogs are searching ponds and the area around Tara Grinstead's home. This is the first time cadaver dogs were brought out. Search and rescue crews are also searching the south part of the county from 129 to highway 90 on horse, foot, four-wheeler and by air. It's been nine days of searching, hoping and waiting, but family members and friends of missing teacher Tara Grinstead still have no answers. The last time they saw Tara was Saturday, October 23 at a friend's home in Ocilla. Tara's originally from Hawkinsville. So far authorities have not released any suspects or leads in the case, which friends say makes the days seem even longer. Still, they're not giving up. "Our school is very like, it is the center of our community," said Jenny Abercrombie, who works at Irwin High. But Irwin County High School is still missing someone at its center, 11th grade teacher Tara Grinstead. "The students love her. You can tell their emotions are raw, and they're confused somewhat and they're missing her," Abercrombie said. Students and a community still searching and wondering. Abercrombie added, "I'm getting to the point to where so many days have passed I just don't know what to think anymore." And they really don't even know where to start looking, because friends say Tara was always on the go. "She had her pageants, she had her schooling, she had people in every county," says her neighbor Missy Davis. "She had one class in Waycross, and she had one class in Tifton, throughout the summer she'd been on the VSU campus," Abercrombie said. "We know that there is someone out there that has possibly seen her, maybe talked to her, just anybody who can give us any leads to find her," said Davis. Until that day comes, those who know Tara ask you to just keep her in mind. "She is worth any effort that anyone would put forth to help us try to find her. She is an awesome person, and she gives so much of herself," said Abercrombie. Now a community is giving back. "Tara come home. I want you to know we are not going to sleep well until we know you are back at your house. Tara we miss you, we love you, and we want you back," Abercrombie added. |

Sorry, that was an old article. I don't know why that was sent to me in an email!!! I guess there is nothing new with the search for Tara. Like I said before, if there is, it isn't being told.
