I think a costco in summit co is a great idea. lets put it in kamas or oakley in the old rodeo grounds. A costco may revive the dying coalville put where crandel ford used to be.

To Jessica,

How was it that you did not realize your cate was at the shelter until Monday? Were you gone? If one of my animals goes missing, I am calling shelters, vet clinics, KPCW, and every other avenue I can think of the next day. The shelter is open Friday and Saturday, how come you did not go over then?

I am sorry that this happened to you, but how about taking some of the responsibility for not looking for you lost cat when it actually became lost?

Everything should not be for sale, particularly the character and soul of our town.

If you like Costco, SLC is not that far away.

Jessica, your behavior is not that of a loving, concerned pet owner. Your cat was missing for days before you contacted the shelter, and your excuse about her getting out of collars doesn't fly; for their own safety, pets who are let outdoors alone should have secure collars AND microchips (i noticed you didn't mention microchips - did kitty have one?). If you had taken those simple precautions, Animal Control could have contacted you immediately. The Shelter employees were not lacking in compassion - they had plenty of it for your poor neglected cat. This could NOT happen to others in the community, at least not if they take proper care to ensure their pets' safety. I hope that the cat is now with a responsible owner and that she will never again have to face spending several night in a shelter because her owner was too cheap/lazy/irresponsible to get her a microchip and a reliable collar. I suggest that the next time you want a pet you settle for a hamster.

Looks like the cat was being feed by neighbors for several weeks prior to being taken to the shelter. They even went door to door looking for you, so called loving owner? Where were you during all this time?

When the cat i have now found me, she was a stray. Sure I'd give her food and a place to sleep at night, because I am a big softy. This cat wasn't even mine, i never claimed her. I got in trouble with my landlord and would take care of her on the down low. one week, she just disappeared. her usual routine was to come through my window about an hour after i got home from work.

Again, i didn't claim the cat. but, i found myself calling animal control and the centers to see if someone took her in. Nobody did, and the next day she showed up just as usual.

She's mine now. I moved and brought her with me. She is chipped, and well, she is a cat, so i try my best to keep her indoors, usually she gives me a pretty angry stare because of it.

if she disappeared. i would be on it immediately. the fact that you didn't realize that she was gone for a longer amount than you're used to gives you the negligence.
i hope your cat is in a better home. and you should learn that taking care of animals is a privelage not a right.

A "much-loved member of her household"? Would she notice if one of her children, if any, goes missing for days at a time? The Summit County Shelter did their job: find a loving home for an abandoned or neglected animal! And an up-to-date, registered microchip would have eliminated the issue altogether. Come on, Jessica. Take responsibility here for your own inaction.
