Yeah they are going to let this mother off on house arrest and let the other children stay with her!! What is wrong with our judicial system? Lets give the mother a slap on the wrist for killing her son-and let the other children stay here!! What are you thinking?

Knowing pretty much the circumstances involved in the case, I think it is crap that she got off with house arrest only!! She won't be able to afford that much longer after the fathers gain custody of their children. She deserved so much more than what she got!! Isn't it nice that the judge that sentenced her is no longer judge! His last day was when he sentenced April!! April will never change!! This isn't the first time she's put her children in danger!

I find this whole situation INSANE! I cannot beleive that April only received house arrest! This woman should not even be called a "mother"! I, too, know this woman VERY well!!! It was a technicallity that she ever got her children back, the first time when she was busted for meth, however after that beautiful baby died, I was shocked when she got the children back! I personally know ALL three fathers of the three remaining children and though, they have made minor mistakes, NONE of them have EVER taken a life.... all of those three wonderful children need to be in their fathers custody, and removed from her...how many more children will die before the state will relize that? What kind of a life will those children have with that woman?

That is how this county operates. Then they hold their beers in the air, for the newspaper, congratulating themselves for never having to be voted in. Wonder how many beers went into their guts before driving home?

Sullivan County Judicial system is something else!! Maybe they are just hoping she'll screw up on her own!! Although she should've gotten prison time and her kids removed from her car for the third time!!! But I guess that's how little things slip by when her daddy is on the sullivan county council and she & the cps worker have a "personal" relationship.......

is this any worse than the woman who was convicted of murder in 2003 then got a retry took a plea deal day before the trial and got 4 yrs. house arrest? She shot an unarmed man between the eyes and was convicted but won a retry on technicality......wonder what she had on someone to get house arrest before 2nd. trial. this was also in sullivan cty

It sure does explain alot doesn't it!!! That same case worker sat on the stand and testified for the mother saying how she was such a good mom and didn't see any reason to remove the children from her care at this time!! What a line of crap!!

CPS is well known for lying, even without the personal involvement. The judges simply don't care. It's no wonder the children are living in such sorry states so much of the time. We need to figure out a way to protect them from "child protection services".

I have seen children taken from their mothers for alot less. In any case neglect is a cause for taking the kids away. I agree with today's Sullivan Times "Todays thought"

What this generation was bred to at Televisions's knees was not wisdom, but cynicism."

Morals, values and kid raising went out the door. So has the system. When case workers, lawyers etc. have personal relationships with clients. Sound like a bad movie. With the ending taking poor children and wrecking their lives. For what? Sex, friendship, job, blackmail. What happen to believing in something and sticking to it right or wrong.

I find ALL of this shocking I am very upset that the justice system has resulted to this! She should be sitting in jail with no visitation to the three remainding children, let alone custody...I would not trust this woman with a cockroach....let alone children!!!!!!!!!!

Really sad, I'm afraid they are sticking to what they believe. They believe they are God and can give or take away. Decency repels them, you'll never see that coming from the Sullivan Co courthouse or social services. As long as, we can't have a say at the polls on who reigns in the courthouse, it only promises to get worse.

April is my daughter and I truly believe she should've been punished a little more!!! What happen to Bradley is very sad-and should never have happened!!! For this I blame April!!!! I really hope that the fathers gain custody of the children-they are much better taken care of there!! At least they have a chance-and their fathers haven't taken a life of an innocent baby!!!

I am April Monroe's sister...I personally blame April for Bradley's death, he would be alive if it were not for her!!!!!! I KNOW my sister is an alcoholic and I personally think that she needs serious help with this problem, she has lost her children twice because of her bad habits and she needs more than drug classes, she should have been locked up! My mom and I have stood by her and even lived by her trying to watch over her children...I personally am tired of being her babysitter and she needs to GROW UP...She crossed the line for the last time when she allowed a party with her children there, and hope the three fathers get custody, and I really hope her live in boyfriend figures out that she kills one of his children, before she kills that beautiful baby girl!!!!!!!!!
Sorry for your loss

Jane and April, you are the victims also in this case. You saw it coming you tried to help but you can only do so much. The system failed you also. It is a sad shame that the system see's nothing wrong with this. Why? See the front page of the times. Drinking is accepted and looked up to. Kevin Orput admitted to being a alchoholic In the Terre Haute paper a few weeks ago. In the article he stated that he went to work drunk on several occasions. He said he drank with lawyers, judges and professionals with the same disease. But they don't see anything wrong with it because they do it. I also agree with really sad. It is not alright to do whatever is fun and polular. There are rules and circumstances that are not acceptable. Society just makes them acceptable. America needs to stand up for what we believe in not what is going to make us fun and give us friends.
