What do you think about our new fire chief ??

Does this guy do anything other then drive around in that white SUV?

On Tuesday, we were at the CC Scholarship Awards Night.
We had the opportunity of seeing many individuals invest their time in helping our studients financial needs. When it was time for the Coal City Firefighter Association scholarship award, our Fire Chief was absent. Guess he has better things to do with his time on a Tuesday evening.

Today, I was looking through the Morris Daily Herald and notice that Shirkey Veterinary Clinic has gracious enough to donate 3 pet oxygen mask to the Coal City Fire Dept.
What's missing ??? Our Busy Fire Chief.

Was he even at last weeks Mock Disaster: Train vs. School Bus ??
I saw the video on the Coal City Courant website and noticed that their were several firefighters present. They all have their name on the back of their fire coats. No James Sheldon! AGAIN!!

What gives with this guy??
Maybe he's laying low because his son is set to plea (for setting the fire behind his home) tomorrow @ 9:30am.

Maybe during your endless time between filling out your goverment aid paper work you could follow him and give us a "up to the minute" description of what he's doing since you must have endless hours in your day to dream about this man .......you are obbsessed

No we have a nice fire Dept. We just don't have people well enuff trained to be there. We have clowns instead.

@ both eyes open -- Maybe if you spent more time, oh I don't know, working at a real job, then you might not have time to criticize someone working over 60 hours a week? And the white SUV takes him to all the meetings, appointments, trainings, etc. necessary to run the CCFD. And, by the way, he ran the mock disaster drill train VS school bus.

can someone tell me why coal city has 2 fire depts. one behind berkots in town, and another out in the middle of a field on berta rd.

Better service .....the trains are running ever 4-7 min. Per burlington northern . And ambulance service could be delayed . Hence the 2nd station ..........plus the growth of the town was leading toward diamond subdivisions more than anywhere else

well then why do they only have 1 police station. rumored to be zero police stations soon. so if a murderer shoots you the ambulance will arrive before the cops. great logic! seems like a big waste of money to me.

Hey retard....the area of land that the fire department protects far exceeds the area of the CCPD. Second, police officers should be out patrolling generally, so station location isn't as important.

Oh, and yes, someone who is shot would probably prefer an ambulance to a police officer. They've been shot. Just so I get my facts straight, if a murderer shoots you, are we to assume that you're still alive and actually care who shows up first, or is he a murderer because he actually murdered you which would make the first at scene irrelevant because you're dead! I'm so confused, I must have drank too much Diamond water last night.

Are any of the people bitching on here actually a member of the department? No? I didn't think so. These brave men and women put there lives on the line everyday. even if you think the department is crap. When that call comes in. Day or night they still show up! So unless you would rather be on your own I suggest you just say thank you and be on your way.

Dear both eyes open, maybe you should call the FD and ask for his itinerary so you know the truth before you start spreading lies and untruthful statements. Tuesday evening was a board of trustees meeting which he is mandated to attend. The HS.scholarship is given out by the fireman's association and not the fire district which is a different organization then the district. The Association members present the scholarship not the Fire Chief.
Why does the fire chief have to be in every newspaper photo? He let the personnel who thought up the idea and did the research get the credit they deserve to be in the paper. Before people start bashing the firefighter's for being un- trained and other lies maybe you should have been at the bus vs train drill to see them in action. They extricated 24 patients from the bus after opening it up with their hydraulic tools in under 60 minutes- they deserve to have their picture(s) in the paper not the fire chief.Why take away from the firefighter's who do the work let the FC work behind the scenes to make them successful. If you have such a problem with this man why not come and spend the day at the FD so you can walk in his shoes before you start throwing untruthful stones. How about it?

They train the new recruits for 6 months! And then offer them continuing education that they PAY for. They have one of the best academys in the nation. So before you open your ignorant mouth maybe you should put yourself through the 6 months of hell and then see if your still bitching about how theyre not trained.. Dumbass
