Marijuana should be legal not only for patients but for adults who prefer to use it as a healthier alternative to alcohol. Visit http://yes390.org

look at this link before you claim marijuana will make you stop hurting. You need to know why you hurt in the first place.

Millions is putting it lightly. More like 'hundreds of millions'

The coming lawsuits will totally bankrupt the city and will end all fire and police protection forcing all the citizens to arm themselves for protection. The city sewer and water department will close and garbage will pile up everywhere, the entire city will stink with raw sewage flooding the streets mixed with garbage.

A former honors sophomore student with dropping grades in high school said she can't wait until pot is legalized, because then she can party more with her mom. Walking down the street a week ago, the smell of pot drifted from the house of a family with 3 sweet little kids.

The social cost is too high for selfish blindness for one's own pleasure.

Just think of a batch of teenagers with easier access to pot driving around. The long term consequences of drinking are known. The long term consequences of Pot are still being studied.

They do know it KILLS nerve cells in children and young adults. It causes cognitive impairment for 8 hours in adults.(a Holland study) Cognitive impairment=poor judgment.

Because federal law trumps state law and until that matter is settled, the City and County are correct in their actions. Regardless of which side you are on regarding medical marijuana, that fact that it is still a federal offense needs to be considered by the local governments.
the federal csa you refer to does not apply here as the tenth amendment to the constitution protects the rights of the people within the state.
californians 13 years ago voted to decriminalize marijuana laws imposed by the federal government, this is called a voter mandate. the people of the state overruled the federal governments authority to punish citizens under a doctors care who used marijuana for thier illness.it did not stop the federal government from prosecuting suspected illegal operations masked under the medical marijuana program. The us dept of justice just released a memorandum to all us attorneys; it recognized and authorized the medical use of marijuana in the states. it also gives guidelines for medical marijuana patients. you can read it on the us dept of justice website. you can find a copy of the california attorney generals guidelines on his website along with many more medical marijuana reports. with information and knowledge we hope you all can understand so we can all stand united in following the laws of the state we live in.the american medical association just reversed it's stance on marijuana acknowledging smoking marijuana has many medicinal values, and they support reclassifying it to a class 2 drug. collective gardens and collective storefronts are allowed, PLEASE read the entire original text's for yourself and you will see :) Amazed more people are not aware of the facts, or just refuse to believe them

I read this at the meeting:
Now, that the Red Bluff City Council has voted to ban medical marijuana, perhaps it’s time to ban a few other problems in our community as well.
Let’s start with banning slum lords from renting filthy homes to tweakers by the high school.
Then, we should ban hardware stores. They sell toxic products and solutions that may be huffed by a teenager and is bad for the environment.
Definitely, we need to ban all men over the age of 85, who may fall asleep during meetings or assault and cuss out private citizens with opposing views from being a council person.
Ban cable television. They promote pornography!
Ban alcohol at all motor sports, rodeos and fairs. People get drunk, beat up each other and kill innocent people while driving drunk.
Ban super-sizing Walmart in an inappropriate and over-congested area. The noise, smell and rumble of 18 wheelers 24/7 will be a nuisance to private homes. Strange weirdos hang out at Walmart, who rob and attack customers in their parking lot. Talk about an intrusive and unwanted neighbor. Still, the council will okay it tonight.
Most important ban any elected or public servant who violates the rights of any private citizen through harassment, intimidation, assault and outright lies.
These bans would ruin the businesses our Councilmen and several people would be fired from their city jobs. There is a little evil in anything if you look hard enough.
This city and your planning director Scott Timboe has violated the Bane Act, which entitles due process, assembly and association without fear. The council and staff have shown an extreme bias against medical marijuana patients by having an unbalanced ad hoc committee that did not represent all parties involved.
The council violated the Brown Act and Bagley Keene Act, when they did not adhere to the rules for open public meetings and move the last meeting. There was people stuck in the foyer and hallway. One was on crutches who could not access the meeting, because the aisles were packed. One can not hold a public hearing when the building will not hold all interested citizens. They needed to move the meeting and I pointed this out to the council prior to any vote or testimony and was ignored. The vote was illegal, because the meeting was illegal.
The City’s Fire Ordinance was violated when they held a meeting and people were forced into the aisles to participate. Had someone pulled a gun and started shooting, we would have all been dead with no escape.
Then, City Council man Jim Byrne cusses out a citizen and pokes him in the chest. He should have been arrested right there and then. I don’t care who he is or how old he is. He needs to either step down or be removed from office. I am tired of public servants assaulting, harassing and bringing false charges and outlandish illegal fines against everyone else, but they and their employees get away with anything?!
Councilmen Jeff Moyer stated he had to do the will of the people. What people? Most of your constituents were pro medical marijuana at the meeting and planning only received two letters from opponents. One wasn’t signed. Who is the public you supposedly serve?
Most patients, I have met are just as good, if not better than the people passing these discriminatory laws. Some are really sick and some are not. Some are poor and some are well off. Most can’t afford health insurance or going to the doctor, so they self medicate. However, there needs to be ordinances to address to the new problems medical marijuana creates, but let’s make them fair and legal.

the tenth amendment to the constitution reserves to the states all rights of the states, not expressly granted to the federal government in the US constitution. Prop 215 was passed into law under the tenth amendment. the people of the state voted in 1996 to remove criminal sanctions and prosecution from citizens using marijuana as medicine with a doctors approval. Senate bill 420 was passed by california congress in late 2003, and it allows for the attorney general of the state to create additional guidelines for law enforcement & everyone in the state to follow.in 2008 he did.he expressly allows for collective storefronts, and collective gardening.
the police regulate all cultivation, and collective activity through these guidelines.
you can find all this info @ various websites including the california attorney generals website. also read the 2005 attorney general report on the state id program, it explains the power of cities in respect to this statewide program. California law preempts city, and county ordinances, and senate bill allows for cities to increase the allowable limits, yet cannot go below what prop 215 allows. street crime related to marijuana are actually reduced in area's that have not fought the enactment of these laws. assembly bill 390 will legalize marijuana for recreational use. stores will sell it for "profit" and they will let you buy as much as you want without a doctors consent. then they will self administer it. better start planning now all you city officials - retail marijuana stores- where will you zone them? it isn't rocket science!
hope city, county officials feel better about depriving the folks who are injured, sick and or dieing trying to use marijuana as medicine.
read the information above and the actual text of senate bill 420, then maybe you will understand how it works. Or you can help a cancer patient who uses marijuana to make it through the treatments they go through to kill the cancer.
