Way more likely that he fainted when he heard that his attorney was Carter. That guy has never beat Hopkins in trial, not that he has done many trials in the past few years. He's too busy running the public defender contract. As a result of how well he does that, the third person in this case, James, has a public defender who until last week was doing misdemeanors - never done a felony trial, never done a preliminary hearing, now he's got an attempted murder case. Only in Lake County.

Way to go Jon. Or one of Jon's little girls. You figured it out. Carter got two muderers seven years each this year. So the guy passed out from joy. He'll be out pretty quick.

Oh and for those of you like Red, who have their law degrees from the correctional officer school for wanna be lawyers or who should be named "Green" as in "with envy", the onlyl difference between a misdemeanor assault and a felony assault is the amount of time it carries. You are a real brain surgeon, Red. Find time to do your actual job instead of blog and things may go better for you.

Tim, if you are saying that felons represented by Mr. Carter are likely to end up in prison then I agree with you. Jake, what's the difference between a felony assault and murder? One less witness (rimshot). There are a number of procedural differences between felonies and misdemeanors, but if you think it's ok to put an attorney who in three years has done maybe four misdemeanor trials on a case with a life top, well, you're entitled to your opinion.

You forgot the court reporter school of want to marry an attorney.

I'd take seven years for murder. Out of prison in five. You think you are so smart Red. You are not. Your career shows that. Try using the brain.

This guy did not go to prison. He supposedly killed someone and got to walk out of jail free thanks to Carter.

Didn't Carter use to work for the DA's Office? Anyone that use to work within a DA's office I would pass on. Why? Because to me, especially with what is going on there now, I wouldn't trust to represent me for whats in my best interest. Alot of pleas where one really isn't guilty and could beat the case. Most folks don't want to go through the painful ordeal of dealing with our court system. Costly and very time consuming, look what happened with Dinius. So, the attorney being in cohurts with the DA decides to still get monies out of the poor sap by having them take a lesser charge, that way they can walk with no time and only fines!

I should in fairness also say that the young man in question, Mr. Moth, appears to be reasonably intelligent and competent. But I think it's a bit hard on him to assign him to a case of this nature his first week as a felony attorney.

Red, if you are not a bailiff or a court reporter I would be shocked. If you are an attorney, you are so misguided. You are cop or cop-like for sure. Nobody else has so much free time to post non stop like you do

I can tell from many of the above comments that we are dealing with ex-inmates on this blog. Their immature rantings leave no doubt that most are preordained to return to the comfort of three free tax dollar meals a day. By the way. If the corrections deputy administered the, "Ol Sternum Rub", to this Wandry character when he,"Passed out", our boy Wandry would have been whistling Dixie in no time.
IM SORRY WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT STERNUM RUB? APPARENTLY I MISSED SOMETHING HERE? BUT I DOUBT HE WOULD BE WHISTLING ANYTHING WITH THE CHARGES HE IS BEING ACCUSED OF, IF I WAS INNOCENT AS A NEW BORN BABY I TOO, MIGHT PASS OUT, ESPECIALLY WITH HAVING A PAST RECORD, GUILTY OR INNOCENT IN THIS DAY AND AGE IT DOSN'T REALLY MATTER DOES IT?IF YOU HAVE THE MONEY FOR A GOOD ATTORNEY WHO HAS GOOD REPORE WITH THE DA JUDGES ECT YOU CAN GET AWAY WITH ANYTHING, IF NOT WELL YOUR SCREWED,THAT IS SO WRONG,
