Thank you for the lovely article. The Ramelli Ranch was purchased by my parents Evelyn and Wes Harberts where they lived for many years. It is truly one of the most beautiful places in California. On winter days, the frozen fog moves through the valley and decorates every thing in sight with sparkling crystals of ice. It is a true wonder of nature. It still is full of wildlife, from resident canadian geese and wood ducks to big cats. The valley itself was sold to the feds to prevent it from ever being developed. It is now part of the wild and scenic river system.

The Beckwourth Cabin was donated by my parents to create the museum. The local citizens have done a wonderful job of repairing it and keeping it up. In addition, there used to be the foreman's cabin, and two small cabins for the permanent staff of the old Ramelli Ranch. Across the road on the old ranch property (privately owned-don't trespass) are the original barn, sheds and the stagecoach stop from the original town of Beckwourth. It also has the original and only concrete floor dairy in the area.

It is a wonderful piece of western history, nestled in a beautiful place. Your article did it justice and I thank you.
