Too bad more people were not involved. I dont feel sorry for any of them. As for the 60 something year old shredded into multiple parts, I would expect better. 7 less people wasting resources is not a problem for me.
Down here in Florida, we had 5 spoiled kids in Dad's BMW attempt to fly off a runway at an airport. The problem is that we are not thinning our herd fast enough.
Our antibiotics are becoming resistant, Mrsa is the new AIDS and this will be the 1st generation of kids that will die sooner than the previous. Thankfully I have left the DC area as it has become a crime ridden garbage factory. The only problem is that the thugs have become poor shots, and only wound each other.
My suggestion to those who disagree with my position on downsizing the population by 1/3rd is that you look at the stats. Natural selection is not happening fast enough so the Government is helping out. You can look to your God all you want as he wont help. Your end is coming and it has nothing to do with your so called "god".

this is a front runner for the darwin award of the year. anytime you are breaking the law there is little sympathy i have for you. its sad people died but it would be easier to feel bad if they were hit by a drunk driver or a complete auto accident but when the whole group is in on it the various extents racing, watching etc. they are all at some fault. if they were at home like most at that time they would most likely be alive there is a time and place for racing and watching this was neither hope everyone learns from this if not realize there a chance it will happen again remember people for every choice in life ther is a consiquence (spelling??) if you chose to take part in something like this you may end up either fine or possibly dead its your choice so dont blame police for not being there blame the participants for their ignorance of putting themselves and loved ones in danger.

Tragedy? Yes it was. Illegal? Very much so. Everyone of us breaks the law every day. Whether it be speeding or some other traffic violation. If you are willing to break the law then you must be prepared to pay for breaking that law. Unfortunately 7 people paid that price this morning.

THIS was such a tragedy, and I stay in FORT WASHINGTON, and the problem is that the stretch of 210 where this happened is never monitored by P.G COUNTY POLICE.You see more CHARLES COUNTY SHERIFFS traveling that section because it runs into their county. And if their was police present on that end, there wouldnt be as many fatalities on that stretch, this is not the only incident from rte.228 to BRYANS RD.I travel that part of 210 alot an its alot of mornings that I am stuck because the road is closed because of a fatal accident. But there is never a large crowd out either, the biggest question should be why was a 60 some year old man on 210 that early watching a drag race. Why was that many people hanging out on a busy highway, my sympathy and prayers go out to all who lost a love one in this tragedy, but some adult should have stepped in and prevented this because its obvious there was plenty involved or was there?.

Why were these people all lined up along the side of the road at 3am? If only they could have waited another month for MIR to open up. There went probably 5 votes for Obama.

This above was quoted from someone else.
My response to your comment is this. You say that if there were police there than there wouldnt be as many fatalities....well that is not even the case. I know of a couple of drag races that took place there and the cops were there stopping traffic while the ILLEGAL race took place. But unfortunatley that is not advertised on television.

I live in Orlando, too. That story made the news way too much. Then everyday they had to show the funeral as they buried another one of these "great, good kids".

Wait a minute Nate. Weren't you one of the great posters here that always B**ch about the police and why they have fast pursuits that kill people just like the posts the other day when the guy running from police killed the lady in her car?

This was'nt even a police chase and seven people got killed. Now you want to b**tch that the police don't do anything. WTF, make up your mind. The police are dammed if they do and dammed if they don't. Besides PG police can chase drag racers, remember! Make up your mind people.

Thin the herd you are really cold hearted and ignorant I could guess you would feel as little as your heart is if that was a friend or loved one of yours. And you talking about DC being crime ridden area last time i checked FLORIDA has quite a few counties with way more crime, check out the A&E show THE FIRST 48 HOURS.There is alot more ignorant crimes out there, your problem is you are obvious racist and couldnt be real and express your ignorance here , so you moved away to talk bad instead of facing the people you dont like in fear of the consequences. So please evaluate you as a person before you down a community or a city. And also i could have seen if you moved to MAINE or somewhere that is not more crime riddled than the place your putting down.AND MAY GOD BE WITH YOU

To those of you who want to blame the police: do you really think there would have been a race if the police were anywhere around? These people have lookouts. Put the blame where it belongs, with the dumb, inconsiderate racers. And NYWILL - do you have an original bone in your body? 7-11 donut police jokes are old. Come up with something new - like Starbucks and crullers.

Yes this is truely sad for the innocent involved but who were the innocent? The bystanders who were there for the show? I realize that not all the facts are out and that there actually may have been innocent people involved but I would like to know and what the state plans to do to the people who lived. It is sad that so many died but what did they die for.....a cheap thrill?
