Clinton Man Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Child

Oh of course he's out on bond! It's not like he's a danger to society or anything!
Will someone...everyone please wake up. Why are we letting predators out to continue victimizing children!! or anyone for that matter.
Enough already. It is long past due that we make the laws much tougher on these monsters.

WEATHERFORD, Texas - A man was sentenced to more than 4,000 years in prison Wednesday for sexually assaulting three teenage girls.

A day after finding James Kevin Pope guilty, jurors sentenced him to 40 life prison terms — one for each sex assault conviction — and 20 years for each of the three sexual performance of a child convictions

This is the kind of sentence he should get!

Until CT takes the lives of Ct taxpayers and our children seriously, we will continue to see the brutalization and buthering of our community members at the hands of offenders set free again and again in CT unsaid catch and release policy for violent predators and predatorial sex offenders. When will State reps step forward for us to show that children are worth putting offenders away for life w/o parole?...or does someone up there think that an adult forcing sex and torture on a child is somehow not that bad??...and Justice for Victims

Living in a small town, a quiet small town, you never think this can happen where you live. It is very sad to hear this story plastered all over the news...not for the accused but for all the others involved, the victims and the family of the accused person. I had a discussion about this yesterday with someone about this particular story, and what she said made be even more worried that this man is out on bond. He is 45 years old, do you really think that this is the first time he's done this? You don't think this might have started with his own children? I don't believe he is innocent for one second. The restaurant owner where he works claims he is innocent...then why has his name been removed from their website? A serious accusation like this with a month long investigation isn't innocent. He should still be in jail somewhere where he can't hurt anyone. There should've been no bail set...not for touching little girls (especilally when he lives across the street from the elementary school). He's a pig and I hope he gets the maximum sentence...and the other victims will step forward to make these charges really stick. I hope he rots in hell!!!

Mr. Renkl was also the manager of the childcare at Shorline Health and Fitness in Clinton. My daughter really loved him. Now I am afraid of what actually went on in the daycare. I have talked to her about this issue, but she denies anything having happened. It's really creepy and scary though for all of us mom's who put our children in his care. There needs to be a much better screening process for daycare and childcare workers, as the process at Shoreline Fitness and the YMCA obviously failed.

Are we in the United States of America or some third world country? While someone convicted of such a crime should be severely punished, ARE WE NOT INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY? You should all be ashamed of yourselves. What if this was someone in your family being tried and convicted BEFORE going thru the system. Would you be so quick to judge????? Pay the price when found guilty. If he DID NOT do these things, his life is shattered.

He may be guilty... but what if he isn't. We'll have to hurry up and wait to see the evidence. While you're waiting , check out:
