Or just make them legal so people arn't committing crime if they become medically addicted. The drug war has made everything worse, and it's been a fiscal drain on fighting actual "crime"

Anony mous what a concept! We make drugs legal, then those who are refraining from using drugs because of law, will have no reason to refrain, then we will have more people killing people, stealing, and burglarizing in order to keep up their addiction, or do you think that the government will pass out free "crack paks" to those who can not afford their addictions. we need stiffer penalties and stricter laws. Prison is not the answer, but severe penalties and WORK programs will have a positive effect. If a man is too tired to get out of the bed in the middle of the night, he will be too tired to break in my house and steal my posessions.

If people want to do drugs, they will,regardless of the law.No one is waiting for crack to be legal so they can finally use it.PUHLEASE.Morality and human decency is stopping those who refrain from using drugs.Give people a sense of purpose and dignity and you change those people.Prison turns a small time user into a full bore criminal and creates more detachment from society.
