Hey, Drive By; you are in the wrong county. While Clermont should be in Orange County it is in crooked Lake
County. It is interesting to see how
these employee's are being treated for
a mistake while many others are allowed to do anything they want to without repercussions. Double standard at the least. Maybe these
guys have something better in mind.
I'll bet they know plenty........

What about the two inmates that crawled out the window of the medical unit..........Borders was running the jail at the time.......he didn't get fired. What about the inmate that escaped from the hospital while the officer went to the restroom. (maybe he should have check the cuffs to see if they were secure.........he's still working there.....double standards............What a pity

I guess the Boss violating the law inside the jail
while several people know about it it OK. That is
where that double standard comes from. Its coming
to light and soon..........

By the way, speaking of a double standard, On March 3, 2004 Major Gary Borders run the Jail only. On that date and under his sole supervision the Lake Co Jail strapped a lady by the name of Denise Ossick, 39 yrs old, of Clermont, Fl. into what was referred to in court as a "MacGyvered" holding chair because, they were sick of hearing her cuss. She was then left unattended and subsequently due to an extra strap they had placed on the chair, choked to death trying to wriggle out of the chair. Around April 2007
then appointed Sheriff of Lake County authorized
Attorney's representing the Sheriff's Office to
settle the case with $500,000. of your tax dollars. No one held Gary Borders responsible for
allowing this to happen. He kept is job and is now
the greatest person ever to hold the office of
Sheriff of Lake County. Talk about a double standard. Proper training would have saved this Lady's life and training would have prevented this
escape. Its not the indians who have the problem,
its the chief's who fail to provide supervision that is the problem. Colling and Gilbert Law Firm
of Orlando represented the family of this lady.
She might have been in jail but, what if she was
your sister, daughter or other family member.

That's right all of you that think you have all the details about all the escapes, lack of training, etc...I hope you sleep well at night knowing those people you are talking about are in the business to protect YOUR a$se$ when you need it. It's sad to see anyone loose their job with our world the way it is.

Honestly i believe the lake county is corrupt, always did long be4fore my mothers death. What happened on march 3rd 2004 was an extreme unjustice to my mother and myself. At the time of the settlement talk i hadnt realized the true oppurtunity i had to prove my accusations. Truth is i still something i cant really prove much of anything though i regret settling and not giving my mother the justice she deserved by letting whomever allowed such things to go on in there/his facilty. i regret not taking the suit to trail not for the money but for the many inmates still placed in such chairs.also for the corrupt officers who still work in lake county. Not saying i could have cleared such truths but i should have tried to shine more light threw a trial. But thats my burden to carry all im saying is for all that still live and deal with the corrupt lake county or any FL county my sorrow for your reality. first hand i have been a victim of there corruption as well and only hope one day there will be light shined on there facilties and department itself
