This is more prevelant than you think. I know of this happening in Orlando communities you wouldn't think.People do this for money and God only knows whether or not the people coming here as citizens are sleeper terroists or thieves. It isn't right, and downright scary.

If they want to go after some real hardcore sham marriages, they need look no further than Hollywood, California

I worked in the hotels over in Kissimee and this was going on alot. Everybody knew of this happening all the time. Alot of the Russian contract workers would over stay their visa'a and then desperately look for a marriage partner. It happens all the time. They are brought here by a company that sponsors them and gets their visa, they can only work for that company. The company takes them around contracts them to the hotels for cleaning and laundry, dishwashing and even cooking, waiting table etc. It is much cheaper for the hotels to use them, they pay the company a flat rate (no soc. sec., worker comp tax ect...) The visa is temporary and when it runs out the worker is looking to get marrried or takes off and goes and works under the table somewhere.

Agree. I know quite a few american/hispanic natives that have been approached, offering to pay them to marry an illegal. They ran for the hills, lol. |

Our fine hispanic friends at work again.. Carry on good citizens. I'm surprised ElSentinel opted to report news coming out of Kissimee

Last year somewhere else in Fla,(think
it might've been Tampa) they also busted a hispanic woman for a huge fake driver's license scam, she was working at DMV and would make up licenses for illegals at like $500 a pop. Now if they would just work as hard to learn English... |

Yet you can be Cuban, show up in Miami on a raft and stay - no questions asked. You are Hatian, show up in Miami on a raft you are deported.
Immigration law? Nah, not applicable to cubans and hispanics. Blacks, whites and russians? of course. |

Russians learned to speak english. Cubans from 1980s DON'T!
What gives? Sounds like a case of mattress-ass to me. |

About time some of those guys get put away. If it was up to me I would request every employer to take their immigrant workers to the immigration office to get check out. Illegal have more rights than citizens and we are the ones busting our tails off working.

More like Eastern Europeans/Americans; very scary if you ask me, they could pull the wool over someone's eye's, and be a national threat or crook. How well do they check these people out - how do they really know they are who they say they are? |

Let's add another charge ...treason.

Uh-h what? What does the color of ones skin have to do with anything? You racist bigots need to quit blaming everything on race? You're the first to point the finger at another and fail take responsibility for anything. As of right now 33% of the American prison population is hispanic. I know, people like you believe that only the whites want the hispanics in jail and it's all a conspiracy by the white man. Okay, if that's the case let's foil their plot and not do things to get thrown in jail, like, stay in your own country. Man-o-man wouldn't that make white's mad! Hispanics, especially from another country, can stop this evil white plot by not breaking into the country, or committing crime once they do get here. What an idea! |

Does anyone know where to see a list of the people charged?

No, I can't find it anywhere. It's funny though, when they have a sex sting and round up the suspects, there is always a page full of names and pictures printed. Guess they don't want the illegals and those who help them to break the law identified, maybe "too cruel and unusual punishment"? |
Call your friends and see who doesn't answer the phone. |

For those who want to become citizens of the U.S. and follow the rules, these people set them back a few paces. This must have some sort of effect on the ones who try and do it the right way. I understand there are those who are desperate to live here, but certainly no good can come from allowing this, even though I'm sure some of them are good people in other circumstances.
