Miscavige's reign of terror over Scientology

Full story: The First Post

Brutalised staff who defected from the Church have given an insight into how its leader maintains control By Coline Covington It was random and whimsical. It could be the look on your face. Or not answering a question quickly. But it always was a punishment." Mike Rinder, a Scientology spokesman for many years, described to the St Petersburg Times the perverse regime of its leader, David Miscavige. Top executives from the Church have been defecting and, along with Rinder, have reported Miscavige's "gruesome" assaults and abusive behaviour towards his management team.

Hey KevSal, does it disturb you that the leader of your "religion" is a horribly abusive dictator? The truth is coming out, and it is nowhere near as glossy and idealistic as those new commercials.

How is it that the Church of Scientology that proclaims itself to be the true movement of today’s freedom fighters cannot see that “true freedom” comes from not being trapped in their religious cult? By being in the Church of Scientology you are not free to think for yourself, only to tow the diatribe of L Ron Hubbard's ramblings. By Scientology’s standards you should be a participating member slave, willingly giving all your money, recourses and time for the promise of Scientology’s forever-distant nirvana. To be “in” with the group, Scientologist must abandon their own common sense and become a true believer at any cost, a rubber-stamped out boot licking loyal slave to the upper management of Scientology, unwilling to hear any scientific sound criticisms of their “technical data”. As they progress deeper into the cult and invest more and more time and money they become aware that maybe there is a super state of being that was promised to them, but it is only another $20,000 dollars away and after all I have come this far so why not continue? Scientologist die, get cancer, have marriage break ups get upset stomachs and headaches just like everyone else that they call “raw meat public”. Their Scientology “OT Powers” don’t save them from the realities of being human not even from their own personal greed and petty vindictiveness. Yes.. in the end when the Church has exhausted their members of all they can get they will invariably leave the C of S like thousands have done before only to find out that they are just “people” like everyone else. And if they stay out long enough they may also find that it’s not such a bad thing after all.

I agree with the above. I only found freedom of my spirit after having left Scientology.
It seemed to me after leaving Scientology that Scientology was the trap & once having left it this became the basis for my spiritual freedom.
I found that Scientology was a reinvention of everything that I had been trapped into before having gone into Scientology.
In one way having been in Scientology enabled me to become my own source of reference about my spirit & mind.
I left Scientology with a new found ability to disagree & oppose it when this is warranted & to agree with whatever about it that I can still use.
It is like any religion or philosophy that one can take from these what one can use & discard what one finds unworkable or useless.
I have never been so relieved by having lost the necessity or compulsion to be a YES person about everything the late Hubbard & Scientology did & what Scientology continues to do.
I no longer consider myself conscripted like a dutiful obedient servant to the will of Scientology.
When Scientology makes its many mistakes it must pay for it.

As interesting as the article was, I found one of the comments very telling. Here is a 'religion' that has 'study tech', talks about raising IQ, and is supposed to help you tap into something greater and wiser than anything known before. Why do people buy this from a man who flunked out of college (Hubbard) and continued by a high school dropout (Secret Squirrel)?

Indeed, some of the comments are as good as the article.

It's good to see that scientology's lawsuit-based grip of fear is wearing off big time and media outlets of all shapes and sizes feel free to publish information without reprisal.

Freedom has been been brought to the world, not because of scientology, but despite it.

And in a rare candid photo, Miscarriage is seen pinching out a new piece of 'tech'...
