How about euthanasia?

The Hippocratic oath has set the standard for physicians since 400 BC. It does not allow for such actions on the part of a physician, but then he was "just another white man," in the words of our illustrious President so you never know...

I don't think that it should be limited to terminal illness. It should be a given right to remove yourself from the equation...

In agreement. It should be a personal right of a person of sound mind to make that choice. Would never want to be a burden on my family, or live (merely exists) as a vegetable. Never!

I've got a great idea, it's called, the catapult, or, the Barack-o-pult! We put all the useless cranky old rocking chair drivers in the catapult. Right out to sea!! hurled into a pool of hungry sharks!! This way, we get rid of all these extra useless mouths to feed, rebuild the shark population and get great ratings for my new show!! As this country begins a period of time that brings the greatest number of the elderly to the later stages of there lives, a greater number of people will view the quality of the elderly life ending experience then ever before. Families and freinds will be exposure to this and will have a huge effect on how this issue will be dealt with in the future. There will be more legal rights, as to how a individual wishes to end his or her life, and major adustments will be advanced from the level it is today.

Okay All - just have your advanced directives prepared. Make sure your family and all professional caregivers have a copy. Hospice is wonderful - if you want to deny life extending treatments and die in your own bed - JUST GET IT IN WRITING!! Wolcotts has preprinted ones that you can get from a stationary store, they even come with instructions. And we already have euthanasia - it's just not the humane kind - it's the Insurance company has just denied your request to care type.

My bad "...request FOR care type." Wasn't even a Freudian slip as we know that insurance companies do not care about anything but pure profit irreqardless of any request.

As with about 60% of the posts, they are a sociopath, liberalist, or from some other save a whale, hug a tree, kill a baby orientation.
