Water slides need new home

This year marks the third summer that water slides sitting on Clearlake's former Outrageous Waters water park land have sat in the sun, unused, waiting for a home.

the slides/waterpark were erected without permits, inspections or even blueprints in some cases, maybe if they had charged a reasonable admission price they would still be in business. Uh Tiffany, did you think to ask about the $100K they set aside for this and where it's going?

Once again the reporter tosses in extraneous information that has nothing to do with the subject of the current article. Why the owners of the water park chose to shut down wasn't what the article was about. No segue there!

Yet another of Farrington's pie-in-the-sky ideas. This was doomed from the moment it was brought up to the BOS - and those who voted for it were simply massaging this twits ego.

You would have thought someone would have explained to the BOS that this "free" gift was far too expensive for the county to under take. If the equipment was truly worth something the owners of the park would have tried to make a money from the sale.

What was the cost of admission anyway? I left a few years after the park opened but never went while i was there - i used the original Waterpark ,...the lake! LOL! They (waterparks) are all pricey - one near me is about a 50 acre park and daily adult tickets are about $30 and a season pass is about $80-$100, but i get mine in winter for $25, and i go now about twice a week. I don't think Outrageous Waters thought about the fact that a lot of people weren't going to go for the outrageous prices, and so now the slides sit - 3 years of hot and cold on that fiberglass can't be good....

this is a real shame! with so many kids in lake county out of school suffering in this aweful heat!...we desperatly NEED places for kids to go, & things for kids to do here...having a nice big attraction brings in people from everywhere around, not just here, especially in the summer tourist season...what a bummer!...like most things that sit empty and unused, it's just a sad old reminder of what we could have, but don't...

Such a waste. Our county needs more things for young people to do and it is just sitting there being wasted. I certainly hope that something will happen with the "Old Water Park" It might help keep some of our young people out of trouble, since that is all they have to do in Lake County.

I think creating a miniture golf course again like the Jules Resort in Clearlake was, would be great. That old place looks like it's right out of a Robert Altman movie. Now, it has become the home of a feral cat colony in addition to other things I'm sure.

I checked the "blueprints" on file at the clearlake city myself, that isn't what got built, not by a longshot and I know there were no inspections because people working on it told me-plus the city guys got pissed when I asked too many questions about the deal. Tony got the supes to set aside $100,000, which I assume by now has drifted off into another budget/account.

A clean water park in Lake County should be a given.
Whatever reason given of it's absence is unacceptable.

Supervisor Farrington should be recalled for his impudent failure and disregard on multiple fronts. Another Republican losser...

A water park Vs the alternative skateboard drug induced maniac side walk bowling ally drunks have proven subject failor's.

Farrington was given the task of working with the tribal consul to clean up that rats nest of a Casino and it remains a tragedy.

Are harmful parasites living in Clear Lake?

All the more reason for a Water Park.

The county makes money when you have to take your children to the clinic to treat the parasites.

So why should they care?

Recall Farriongton and Brown...

Its not about Farriongton & Brown, its about who has the MONEY. Pony up the money and put the water park in a place you want it. Why should the county pay form it? Quit with this "ITS THE COUNTY", step up and take it.
