I don't get the Military. Dont get me wrong I dont aprove of this but He is put in a unit and stand there and do what? Tell a mob of angry fellow soldiers to stop. Was he supposed to shoot his own guys to stop them only to then be charged with treason? I'm glad I never went into the military as a kid as I planned on. I've heard to many horror stories where a private us told to do something and then gets in trouble for it. Not that he participated in this. But what do you do. Do you shoot your own comrads to stop them? This only angers the iraqis that much more and is a reason not to be in that f*cked up place. I just dont get how we are fighting for their democracy when this was about going after OBL. What about all the other countries with no democracy? Why havnt we invaded Cuba yet. we have had 40 years to do so. What about the countries with evil dictatos in Africa? Why didnt we attack the Soviet union to free eastern europe? If these people would have been shot when they were were attacking our soldiers, I would be completely fine with it. But, since they were captured prisoners, and we have international treaties concerning this very matter which all of the soldiers agree to abide simply by joining, there is no choice but to punish those involved.

And why exactly is that? I'm confused, are we suppose to be for the military or against them? What he did was wrong, he will serve his time and have to live with it for the rest of his life. Our country has OUR military over there, we have no idea what it is doing to them mentally. I have been thru this with my ex, after coming back from Iraq he was a different person. He had nightmares, he would fly off the hinges and then be happy within a matter of minutes. Being over there changed his life and I am not saying that military should be pulled out all together but to go on for this long, some have been on numerous deployments and some for extended amounts of time? How can this be good for them? For our country?

To compare our troops to the SS is being a drama queen. The SS exterminated over 6 million people on an organized level. 10 or 20 bad soldiers out of the hundreds of thousands that have served in Iraq honorably is a far cry from the SS slick.

From what I have read about this story He was on the turret when these people were shot! You obviously have never had someone in your life that has put their life into your hands. You don't turn on them for nothing! I'm not saying that killing them while they were blind folded and bound is right in any means but this man shouldn't have face any charges.
