I work with a few people who smoke. They think they need to run outside every 15 minutes and smoke for a half an hour, and they come back stinking to high heaven. I don't blame my employer for getting mad. Another problem is freakin' cell phones. JEEZUS. Do you need to be attached by an electronic umbilical cord to everyone in your life 24/7? Leave it in the car and do your damned job!

You know, I agree with you on this aspect. If they dont want smoking on their property that most certainly is their business! I have no arguement with that. Anyone who violatesthe policy should be terminated. What I dont agree with is not hiring someone simply because they smoke. EAT IT wrote: The Moshannan Valley Prison near Philipsburg DOES NOT allow their employees to smoke during their shift. They are not allowed to leave the property during the duration of their shift, that includes breaks and lunches. And they do not allow tobacco of any kind to be used on their property. They insist that all tobacco using staff leave their tobacco in their cars and must wait until their shift is done and they are driving off the property at the end of their shift. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it..if you don't believe me find a guard or other employee and ask them. It IS their business what happens on their property.

Be honest! You should be honest in interview. Believe that almost recruiters have experiences to know if you're honest or not. If you tell lie because in best situation that you're choosen, you have to stop smoking ---------- Hr officer interview questions http://www.humanresources.hrvinet.com/hr-offi...

I'm hearing a lot of opinions vs logic or fact. The question I want answered is -- IS it legal to ask the question during an interview? Can anyone document this or support it?
