Shock!!! Finally someone gets it that simply having a handgun doesn't prove anything IS going to happen. Although it is still unconstitutional in my mind to require a permit to simply possess a weapon since the second amendment affords us the right to keep and bare arms without it being abridged. The permit thing is just a tracking system with resource collecting benefits to a government entity long overdue in being remanded for over stepping its bounds. One thing at a time, of course, and in time we shall restore our constitution and its mandates as folks realize that goverment is organized crime!

Good.

No problem with allowing handguns....but it makes sense that they should have the same rules applied as other weapons.
Either that or remove restriction of locking any weapons inside vehicles on DNR properties. This decision, whatever the intensions, gives on visions of rambos running around in the woods, thinking some 'bad guy' is gonna come try and get you at any time. |

Finally some bloody sense.

Guns are fine but why anyone would hunt in this day and age is a mystery. I'm all for the use of firearms for self defense or competition shooting but hunters are useless rednecks that are a throwback to an age that is, thankfully, passed. Buy your meat at Marsh or raise beef for slaughter but killing for sport is ignorant beyond all reason.

Ever stumble upon a Meth lab in a remote area? It happens, and these people are desperate. The world isn't like it was 30 years ago.

Unless it's a bank or airport, I pretty much ignore the signs telling me I can't bring my concealed handgun in. You can bet those signs and rules wouldn't stop those like the kid who shot up V Tech or any other public shooting spree. On top of the unconstitutionality of restricting our right to bear arms and protect ourselves, it's just plain stupid. I will be ready for anything and not be a victim.

What are all these gun-toting sissies afraid of? They can't even go on a picnic without their lethal "security blankets"? I think all handguns should be cast in pink metal as a sign of the courage of the owner.

GARY MOODY:
Do you advocate disarming the Palestinians,(for whom your profile indicates you are an advocate),as well as law abiding American citizens? |

The Liberals are out of ammo. People have been carrying guns in parks, and there haven't been any catastrophes.
So much for cowardly Liberal hysteria. |

Exceptionally good point. Those that are unarmed and stumble upon one could wind up wishing that they had a gun. The odds would VERY uneven without one. |

Silly comment from a mindless person.

Keep DNR off of Geist so we can party!

This headline displays the Indy Star's bias toward prohibiting guns.

Im sorry you are having these "visions" |

Your level of ignorance is appalling. The majority of hunters are far from "useless redneck throwbacks", and those that hunt purely for sport are most definitely in the minority. Most use their prey for food and use other parts of the animal as well. Your characterization is nothing more than a convenient stereotype used by the ignorant to try to denigrate those that engage in an activity that they do not happen to agree with. And a decidedly unamerican trait at that. |

To "hunters are scum", Obviousely you have no idea what you are talking about. Hunters are needed to keep the population in check. If there were no deer hunting they would be running around the neighborhoods like dogs and cats. Don't feel bad, you are just uneducated on the subject, look into it sometime.

The one who is "scum" is you, buddy. You have no reason to call any hunter ignorant. Someone has to keep the deer, rabbit, squirrel, etc. population in check, or it will die of diseases far worse than lead poisoning. Compared to these diseases, sport hunting is highly humane. |
