I have no earthly idea what the intellegence community REALLY thinks...as a lot of what they think is probably classified, and like you I havent read much about THEIR take. I would guess Buchanan has more access to those who would know than you or I.(and I do not know how much faith I would put in their assessment one way or another based on the "intellegence" on Iraq) Bucanan does have a point though.......or at least I think he does. OBVIOUSLY, I would prefer that Iran never have a WMD but if Bucanan is right and Israel has 200.....I can't really blame them for wanting one, and I see why they resent us telling them they can't. The Soviet Union had hundreds of them aimed at US most of my life, and we had hundreds pointed at them. THAT is what prevented anyone from using one. They called it mutually assured destruction.....I suspect Iran would like some of that kind of insurance, or assurance. Iran is an old country, a couple of centuries old. I do not think even the radical leaders in charge now would be willing to have their country turned into a cinder by launching a unilateral nuclear attack on Israel or anyone else for that matter. "Mutually Assured Destruction"......"M AD", my point exactly! Remember when Pakistan and India were on the verge of a war, then they both had THE BOMB, since then I have not heard any war drums beating between them. The same could happen in the Mid-East.

How can we miss Bush when we're still paying for his wars and his tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy?

Presideny Obama is not a warmonger as the republicans ,but he is not afraid to fight if the USA needs to either ,Democrats are stronger then a coward republican as John McCain. John McCain a coward? McCain may be alot of things but not a coward, this is a man that spent years in a POW after he was captured fighting for our country. I'm guessing you never had the guts to join the military and you are calling this war hero a coward. Were you a draft dodger or something? Bassed on your coment I doubt that you know very little or understand what is really going on in Iran at all.

McCain is a hero, and whie I disagree with some of the policy he supports, I have great respect for his service to this country both in the military and in government service. Comments like this are the norm now and we have ourselves to blame. Trashing the person works to win elections. George W. Bush and Rove proved that in 2000 when they attacked McCain and won South Carolina in the primary. A war hero was attacked for his patriotism by a draft dodger and ....well we all know the rest. Candidates no longer care if what they say is the truth, all that matters is political advantage. In an age when information is so easy to obtain with a few keystrokes, voters have become so lazy that they would rather believe a political hack from FOX or MSNBC or talk radio than find out for themselves. Comments like this will continue as long as they work. and based on the recent past, they worked splendidly for the winners, just not for the country.

After the democrats lose, the first thing they say is that they “couldn’t get their message out”. The attitude is that “if you really understood what we’re saying then you would agree with us”. They never admit that the voters REJECTED their message; it’s always that they couldn’t get their message out. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/... Now Obama wants to get re-elected, but he can’t run on his record, because his isn’t very good. So he’s taking his cues from the democrat playbook, and he’s started TRUTH TEAMS. These are websites dedicated to making sure that LIES told about him or his policies are twisted back to the message he wants to get out. I decided to take a quick look at one of them, Attackwatch.com . I never got past the browser’s security certificate. Look what pops up: www.attackwatch.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is only valid for the following names: www.barackobama.com , assets.bostatic.com , call.barackobama.com , contribute.barackobama.com , dashboard.barackobama.com , donate.barackobama.com , downloads.barackobama.com , integration.barackobama.com , login.barackobama.com , maintenance.barackobama.com , my.barackobama.com , payments.barackobama.com , secure.assets.bostatic.com , services.barackobama.com , static.barackobama.com , static.store.barackobama.com , store.barackobama.com , www.gopdebatewatch.com , www.gottaregister.com , www.raiseyourvote.com You know something’s wrong when you need all of these websites to make sure your message gets out. And lost in all of this is the simple fact that if your message really made sense and was truthful, you wouldn’t NEED 100 websites to explain it.

Forrestal CVA-59 was engaged in combat operations in the Tonkin Gulf, a Zuni rocket misfired from a Phantom and hit a Skyhawk parked next to McCains Skyhawk, McCain jumped off his Skyhawk and headed for the safety of the pilots readyroom and watched the horror on closed circuit t.v. Leaving 134 of his shipmates dead. But before the sunset he met up with this newscrew and left by helicopter and flew to Saigon for some good stiff drinks.

You know the wheels have come off the GOP wagon when the Republicans feel compelled to accuse Clint Eastwood of being a shill for President Obama. Clint, is nobody's Democrat by any stretch of the imagination.

OR...it's to keep all the vicious Far-Right Wing Conservatives from hacking, changing, & anything else destructive that they can think of to do (& we all know that've had lots of practice & nothing is too low-down) to Obama's Website. Also, the Websires are really to counter all the anticipated Lies that the Far-Right Wing Conservatives are sure to tell about Obama & anybody else connected to him. They've been doing it ever since the election & they will surely "ramp it up" more, the closer it gets to the election. It's a shame on them & this Country that campaigns have come to this Low Point, but it's a Fact & we all know it. Hate & Greed has taken over the lives of Far-Right Wing Conservatives...it's all they know or care about. If they don't get their way about everything, large & small, then they try to destroy everybody that disagrees with them, even on this Forum. It's unlike anything I've ever seen before In this Nation.

Clint, is nobody's Democrat by any stretch of the imagination. Eastwood certainly isn't ! The problem is... they have boxed themselves into a corner with the auto bailouts. We ALL should be proud of a resurgent auto industry in America, no matter who initiated it, since those companies represent JOBS, not just in their factories but in other supplier's factories. Some of those jobs are right here in East Tennessee. BUT, in order to give credit for the resurgence of the big 3, Republicans would have to admit they were wrong and Obama was right, and it seems forming those words are impossible for most of them to do. I am reminded of that interview with Bush II, when he was asked what he considered to be a mistake he had made.....and he couldn't think of ANY ! Must be nice !!! With G.M. back on top beating Toyota, the bailouts have lost their stigma, and if anyone uses them for a campaign issue it will be Obama not the Republicans ! The flap over the Eastwood commercial just shows how thin skinned they have become !

This is a dangerous precedent to set, even for Christians. I don't think it will stand, in this Nation that was founded on Religious Freedom.
