First and foremost to debate over right and wrong does not coincide with the high standards of VMI. When Soldiers pass away whether in combat or home station the first action is to honor that Soldier with words of kindness and followed by condolences to the family. No matter the height, weight or circumstances of the Soldiers death he or she is honored for their service. Cadets at VMI understand this to a degree because they sacrifice everything that is considered a normal college experience. I challenge the current cadets to stop pointing fingers and screaming about how the sky is falling. Instead speak of the CADET that has passed, post words of kindness and condolences. Don’t worry about some Alumni speaking about how hardcore the RATLINE used to be. If it was so great back then it would still be the same. The only RATLINE that matters is the RATLINE that strengthens bonds between CADETS.
