Employees at the Clarksburg, WV Mission steal funds and donations every month to use for their own purposes. Annually, the mission receives over $250,000 in donations from caring people and organizations. The homeless people eat donated meals which are often cold or contain very little nutrition or taste. Very little money goes in to feeding the homeless or housing them. Often people get turned away who are homeless and some are left to live under a local bridge until their death. Several homeless people died in recent winters this way. Frank Jordan, coordinator, skipped town not long ago because he was wanted for charges of embezzlement and theft from another mission in the NYC area.

The Clarksburg Mission is a good thing in the right hands as one never knows when they might need some help but to have staff steal is a low thing indeed and if I was privy to the above information I would do something about it!!
I am not a busy body or believe in gossip and have never told on no one but this type of stuff makes me mad....do something!!

Jack or Alice,
can you tell me where you got this information and if you are referring to Frank Jarman that used to run the Clarksburg mission. I am also wondering about your comments on the NY situation.
Please let me know ASAP.

Was it really Frank Jarman not Jordan ?? The reason I am asking cause a mission that I work for is thinking of hiring him. I really need to have some concrete information as to what is going on. I will give you my e-mail so that it can remain private. Thanks for your help.

Hi Brian,
it must have been Frank Jordan who also was accused of stealing the Mission van. But I assure you with a great accounting agency like toothman and rice overseeing the accounts/balances of the Clarksburg Mission every penny is accounted for. And since I and Bill Phillips, of Toothman & Rice suggested bringing an accounting firm on to add transparency in funds believe you me Brian, it wasn't me they are talking about. Sincerley, G. Frank Jarman

As a p.s.
I am disappointed that someone who oversees the running of a nonprofit would go to a website that discusses things like whether "bush invokes the nazis attacks on obama" for "reliable' information about an employee. A blog like this is wonderful for entertainment and airing your "thoughts" but slander and defamation of character are very serious crimes. So, I haven't been to NYC since I was 25 years old, just for your fyi.

And, the Clarksburg Mission does great work for the homeless and many hard working, good people worked there with me as we raised it from an organization on the brink of ruin to on organization that the people of Harrison county can be proud of.

Please pick another one to slander... maybe an organization whose Board is so shallow minded it's members seek out venomous slander to harm it's employees. Please leave the one whose desires only to help make this world a better place alone.

Frank

P.s.s
Brian you know where I work if you would like to sit down with me face to face. Wouldn't that be better...more Christian.

I agree with you. Good for Frank for standing up for himself! People can and do say anything they want on these forums without any basis in fact at all. Brian should be ashamed for asking questions like he did on here. I'm sure there are better ways of finding out if an applicant is suitable for employment than looking on a web forum!

I think the individual being spoken about was indeed Jack Jarman and not Jack Jordan. But the information about what is going on in the Clarksburg Mission is entirely correct otherwise.

There are serious problems there and if no one is interested in seeing these problems for yourselves, then the problems won't get resolved! Jim A- you said this was gossip. Get off your duff and go see for yourself instead of making wise cracks. Go the mission for lunch sometime. Take a real interest in your community. The mission serves meals at noon and 5 p.m. daily and it is open to the public.

Was it really Frank Jarman not Jordan ?? The reason I am asking cause a mission that I work for is thinking of hiring him. I really need to have some concrete information as to what is going on. I will give you my e-mail so that it can remain private. Thanks for your help.

I heard that Frank Jarman is now running the mission in Fairmont, WV. Someone needs to keep an eye on the funds going in and coming in. I have heard from other people as well that Frank Jarman was wanted in NYC for charges. The correct name is Jack Jarman. I would like to think that those homeless people will get the help they need and not have funds stolen away that are supposed to be used for them.

It is good that there are forums like this because this information would rarely come up in a newspaper, since reporters are so guarded and the facts don't usually come out until it is way too late. I have witnessed many people who have died that were kicked out of the mission.

Steve Carr still works at the Clarksburg mission and he drives a nice car that is a gold acura.

Clarksburg Mission Official Response to Accusations
The material on this blog has recently come to our attention. As President of the Board of Directors of the Clarksburg Mission, I wish to go on record regarding these accusations of misconduct.
Mr. Frank Jarman, former Executive Director of the Mission, was not discharged for embezzlement. He resigned to pursue other interests.
Donations from our contributors are a sacred trust to help the needy; we regard them as such.
The Clarksburg firm of Toothman and Rice manages our accounting. Income and spending are monitored and properly documented. Standard industry procedures for maintaining integrity and accountability are in place.
We aim to be forthright and honest in our dealings and stewardship, and value our donors and their generosity. We welcome visitors to the Mission. Most of the time after a tour we hear "I had no idea you did all of that here."
The goals of the Clarksburg Mission are spiritual restoration and helping people attain self-sufficiency. We hold our employees to high standards of accountability and behavior, in light of the example they set for our residents.
On occasion employees must be dismissed for failure to meet the standards they agreed to abide by when hired. Disgruntled former employees spreading misinformation about a former employer is not a problem unique to the Clarksburg Mission.
Anyone interested in further information about the work we do may email clarksburgmission@comcast.net and request a PDF copy of our most recent newsletter, visit our web site at www.clarksburgmission.org , or phone the Mission itself (phone number on web site) during business hours.

Thanks for posting this. I love shopping at the thrift store when I get over to Clarksburg. I hadn't been there in a very long time but got a chance recently to go again. The store has changed a lot and looks great!
