Lowell "LJ" Maxey for Sheriff

I hear LJ Maxey is running for sheriff next fall. That would be a good thing for our county. I also hear he is surrounding himself with experienced law enforcement officers no matter whether they are republican or democrat. Retired WV State Police Trooper Jerry Menendez is running his campaign for him.

Albert is not beatable.

Anybody is beatable. To say any politician is a lock is to say the voting people are ignorant in their thinking and that their opinions don't matter. RAZOR...I usually agree with 90% of your opinions. But not on this one. He going to have his hands full with guy. Plus all of Menendez' drag...he should be concerned. Should be very interesting next fall.

Due to the way people vote in this county almost all democrats are unbeatable. Add to that a sheriff that plays the game very well and does not have a lot of enemy's and a vowel at the end of his name, I think he is unbeatable. Albert makes everyone he runs into think they are a long lost best friend. That is my opinion. Especially when you put up a generally unknown name like that against him. I know who he is but I doubt too many people do. If Menendez wants change he should run himself, his name would make it a little bit more interesting than Maxey.

Oh its true and I hope for the sake of every deputy that still works there & every citizen in the county that LJ Maxey gets elected. He is for real and he will protect the citizens and not just his friends. The only people that benefit from the current administrations philosophy are the out of town drug dealers. Good luck LJ...you will get my vote and my families votes.

LJ please save whats left of that department. It has some fantastic deputies there and they deserve better!

I'm all for change and whatever makes this city/county a better place.

Can any one person really make a change to this unbelievably corrupt county? I'm all about casting my vote where I think will do the best for our area. But can one man really undo the machine that's in place already?

Jim Jack's name didn't end in a vowel and he was unbeatable. If I remember right there was an Italian who was pretty popular and didn't come close to beating him. Albert hasn't done a bad job and yes you are right, he is unbeatable. Anyone running against him is wasting supporters money.
What happened to the city police, the chief isn't Italian? Some of you on this forum really need to get your heads out of your a$!.

I meant that along with the other factors. Not standing on its own. The biggest factor is bieng the Democrate.

Hey, Taxpayer!!!! One man can make a difference...anyone can be beaten...ask Alan Mollohan...anyone think we would ever have a Republican Congressman from the 1st District of WV. Not only can one man make a difference...but one vote can make a difference. Listen to what L.J. Maxey has to say...he is for real...and I hear he is after the machine. He might be a Republican...running in a Democrat County, but he knows what it takes to keep drug dealers out of Harrison County...he spent 35 years doing that...trust me...people will hear from him when things get going next year and they are going to like what they hear...looking forward to 2012

Mollohan is hardly a good example....he had to do alot of bad things before he finally stopped voting him in!!

Oh, I see Razor...so he has "to do alot of really bad things" before we don't vote for him? How about ONE "horendously bad thing" like decimating the Drug Task Force...the last deputy he had working on the Task Force has resigned...might I add he was a SGT...are you paying attention RAZOR??? By my calculations he has lost four (4) SGTS in as many months. That's 50% of his SGTS. He said the other day in the paper he is down NINE deputies...RAZOR did you hear me NINE...NINE. That's probably like 20% of the Harrison County Sheriffs Dept. Must be a great place to work, huh??? So now...right now RAZOR...Marano has NOBODY...NOBODY working drugs fulltime...you think a guy with that kind of leadership is unbeatable...I don't think the voters of Harrison County are that blind...I guess we'll see...Hey, Taxpayer...if you are like me, it only takes ONE bad thing for me. If I know L.J. Maxey like I think...he will call Marano out on this issue and "alot more" RAZOR. Still looking forward to 2012.

Oh, and for DontCallMeSnuffy...for the record, there is no such person as J.C. Maxey...it is a made up name...trust me...if he could, L.J. Maxey would shut J.C. Maxey down.

Okay people here it is just open your eyes. THE SHERIFF DEPARTMENT HAS PROBLEMS AND IT ISN'T FROM THE DEPUTIES. The sheriff department has never at least not in my lifetime lost 4 sergeants in 2 months time. How stupid do you have to be to believe that the Sheriff dept. Is in such bad manpower shape that you have to pull the most experienced prescription guy off and in the same week start a SCAD unit and put a man on it and by the way not the experienced guy you pulled off the task force. Not putting down the Scad guys because they are good guys gut they are gonna ring used for nothing but a political pawn. SCAD is a great concept when done right and used properly. None of the deputies can speak their mind without facing retribution from the thieves,thats right I said thieves because there are two chiefs. Because no one man could possibly do the job albert did when he was chief. If a deputy dares to speak the truth he is branded as disgruntled. Albert does not seek the truth he only believes what his chiefs tell him and believes everything they say without trying to verify anything. Isn't it odd that no other Sheriff has had such problems with the task force as albert. Could it be that he is so posse hungry that he doesn't like the task force because he has to share the control with clarksburg and Bridgeport or is it because one of his chiefs is a former task force officer with an axe to grind and is spreading BS to Alberts ears and he just swallows it. Wake up people and see the truth.

That's a good question and I think every doctor and pharmacist in harrison county asked it and was ignored. Because the Sheriff believes he is unbeatable in the next election he just ignores the hard questions
