"Mabery's report also asked that staff seek input from representatives of the Mountain Gate Community Association before the town files claims with the bond companies.
In a related agenda item, Sherry Bailey, community development director, reported to the council that she had attended a meeting of the Mountain Gate Community Association on Feb. 19. Mabery's report listed some of the most important worries of homeowners in Mountain Gate. The community clubhouse was an amenity that many in the community weighed in the decision to buy in the subdivision. Even though the town had the building permit ready in January, construction has not been started on the clubhouse. Home warranty work is another problem area in that some homeowners still have unresolved warranty issues. When Empire froze its operations at the subdivision and pulled off site, three town homes were under construction. Two of those had not been sold. One was sold but was still two weeks away from completion. No work is being done on those homes at this time. Property owners had been paying dues to the homeowners association, and they now wonder what the status is for those funds. Apparently, those funds are supposed to be segregated and held for the association". HMMmm Thank you, 2ndsight. |
