Ray David Drives Model T in Parade in Model T's 100 yr. Anniversary

Local News was unaware or failed to report, Ray David had the honor of driving W.R. Luttrell's later model "T" in the Saint's Roost Parade on July 4th. This year, Ford is celebrating its 100 th. year anniversary. This is quite an honor, because Mr. David has owned Model "T's" and has been a participant and supporter in our local Fiddlers contest and won many times and has driven in many parades. The Ford Model T (colloquially known as the Tin Lizzie and also the Flivver) was an automobile produced by Henry Ford's Ford Motor Company from 1908 through 1927. The first production model (1909) was built 10/1/1908.

I was born in Hedley on jan 10 1935 on a now plowed field kitty cornered from the old Stanford Laundry. Bill Stanford was my uncle. My father, Jack Marshall owned a laundry on the property at the time of my birth. The laundry burned shortly after my birth. He then owned the Hedley cafe on main street until 1942. Anyway, there was a Mr. Plunk, who it was said drove only model T Fords all his life. It was rumored among us kids that he had a barn full of the lizzys just in case. I remember them being parked in the middle of the street when he came to town on Saturdays. I'm a retired Air Force Vet now living in San Bernardino Ca. ljmarsher@gmail.com
