Finders keepers on $1,800? Not so fast, cops say in Leesburg case

Temptation got the best of Doris La-Hediny, police say. The 62-year-old Bushnell woman was in jail Tuesday, accused of keeping an envelope with $1,800 in cash that a harried customer had absent-mindedly left at ...

This woman deserves every bit of that Grand Theft Charge and Walmart should pay the man back for the stupidity of it's cashier in handing it over to the woman. Of course 99% of those who are handed an envelope full of money will be tempted to say yes it is mine.

Granted the guy should of been more careful to hang onto the money say in a wallet not a bank envelope, but nonetheless we all make mistakes, we all get forgetful it happens, that is not an excuse for someone to take money that does not belong to them .

She should give the money back, she should get a reward, and no jail! Too many times you hear how someone found something, returned it and got little for the trouble.

I saw a woman driving her car in a parking lot in Coral springs. She had put her pocketbook on the roof and started driving away. I chased her down and got her to look at her roof. First she thought I was crazy, Then she was happy. But I did'nt get any reward. I should have let her go and take the cash. Oh yeah she was driving a Mercedes. She looked rich.

You did not deserve a reward for doing what was right. She does deserve jail time, she knew it was not hers but the man in front of her. Reqards are not required. They are gifts you get in heaven. The law is clearly written that if you find something, with no identification, you should try to find the owners in a reasonable amount of time and if no one responds, it is yours. Don't always expect thanks for good works, do it for yourself.

What a piece of work, this woman. Wasn't there an article out on the AP just the other day talking about how folks on food stamps are the most obese (some crap excuse like good foods aren't available to them?) Ugh... Walmart has a pretty nice produce dept, last time I checked. If the govt really wants to control obesity and wasteful spending, things like soda and donuts wouldn't be allowable purchases on food stamps. This lady disgusts me. She probably thinks she's "entitled" to the money, just like she thinks she's entitled to food stamps and free healthcare. But no, the democrats will NEVER allow this type of funding to be curtailed because they'd ire their entire "entitled" voting base.

If we gave more money for people on welfare she wouldn't have needed the money for food.

People on relief who commit crimes should also be barred from receiving
further public assistance because of their contempt for the society which supports them.

And exactly where can you get a roof over your head, and food in your stomache for all of about $800 a month - please let me know cause I could send many people I know there.
Get real - open your eyes, and shut your mouth for once. Granted, she deserves jail - but when all you get is that much $ to live on, you would be tempted to.

...tracing a public-assistance debit card that she had tried to use to buy about $20 worth of groceries, including doughnuts, a pie and roach spray.
All of those things are not allowable expenses for public assistance ("food stamps" in their modern form). This welfare RAT should have known that.

Isn't it amazing that someone who is "poor" enough to be on the dole should be a mammoth fat disgusting obese piece of s#!t like her? How can she get enough food to be that loathesomely disgustingly fat?

And to top it all off, her CHARACTER is ROTTEN THROUGH THE CORE! Unbelievable. I hope her life is a living hell, and I hope she lives in hell when it is done.

By the way, the guy who lost the money doesn't seem like any real worthy dude, either. Two kids out of wedlock, behind two months on the rent, not qualified for a job higher than Burper King... Can you spell "L-O-S-E-R"? He vomited twice after losing the money, huh? Yeah, um, that was probably just the Milwaukee's Best...
