This doesn't affect me at all as based on past experience with Delta, they are the one airline I will NEVER fly, not at any price. I hope they go the same route as Pan Am and Eastern.

Who would want to fly on Delta anyway? The usually required trip to Atlanta makes it an automatic "No" for the Captain.

Perhaps they will be able to sideline more of those terribly rude flight attendants that have become so synonymous with Delta Airlines. BVdK

All this at the same time airline employees' unions are screaming for more money. Hey unions, your bald-faced greed is eliminating your own jobs.

Is ok, if you don't like a particular airline, but is not nice to wish it goes out of business. There is a lot of people that work for the airline, and they will be losing their jobs. Not very nice of you.

At several American companies like American Airlines, the employees took pay and benefit cuts, then after that management gives themselves pay and benefit raises. Now can you understand why employee want raises? With so many companies making less money (except oil companies) or even losing money, why don't management take big pay and benefit cuts? Does management at companies that do not offer medical and dental coverage at a reasonable cost, really need to make a million dollars or more per year?

Alaska will not fly to Portland, but will still fly to Seattle which is 2 hours away from Portland. Just the inconvenience of a lay over... Go Greyhound!

Airtran has many direct flights out of Orlando. Hopefully they're filling flights enough to keep those routes, otherwise you'll get stuck in Atlanta no matter where you want to go.

Geezzz, Oil supply is not an issue according to our President. Refining isn't an issue according to the Oil Companies. The issue is speculation and greed. Remember, most of the oil we use is home grown and we still export oil. The question is why the domestic oil companies are allowed to price gouge our country when the domestic oil is cheaper to produce and refine vs. imported.

The difficulty is the short flights between cities because most fuel is burned during take off. The price of a ticket is presently to low to be profitable. Longer destinations and international routes are not being affected to a large degree and in fact more options are becoming available rather than less between my two destinations of Colombia and Orlando. Service still sucks regardless the airlines. Wife and I lovingly refer to AA {Another Announcement} as they delay each and every flight.

I do not know why pricing is so difficult? Personally I get annoyed when you realize the guy next to you may have paid $200 less. Determine cost then sell business class and first class at the same price with whatever service {food, bags etc.} you wish to include and stop all this BS and nickel and dime. The customer will decide if it is to high and adjust accordingly via, car, train or bus. Airlines are beating each other to death with competition on a needed service. Maybe it is time for a little government intervention as they move forward so they can consolidate and become profitable again.

USA is the largest 3rd largest oil producer in the world however we as a country far exceed that capacity. We do not export any appreciable amount of oil. The problem is the weak dollar because world wide that is the currency it is traded in. The emerging economies like China and India demanding more with the same global production.
