A fitting ceremony for a deserving man. Jimmy O'Donnell has served this country and the city of Indianapolis most of his life. Never one to accept thanks, Jimmy deflected all the accolades, stating he hoped the statue stood for recognition of all his shipmates, especially those lost at sea. Several of his Indy shipmates were on hand for the unveiling of the statue. His 35 years as an Indianapolis firefighter drew many from the department. Beside him was his family, and his local friend, John Gromosiak. Jimmy O'Donnell will always hold a special place in my heart. He is our hero.
