What the hell? Asking for a lighter sentence? This very question is what is wrong with our justice system. I say..go back to the wild, wild, west...we all know what that indicates.

10 years maximum? What?? If I remember correctly, the day after he was arrested, and sobered up sitting in jail, he threw some kind of hissy fit and did damage in the cell.(Guess there won't be any additional charges for that) So he's not really responsible for his actions when he's drunk and high on whatever he was taking, and when sober he's what-worse? Where are the charges for abuse of a corpse? What about the destruction on property for the damage he did while sitting in jail?? What is going on here?? What a joke! What a smear of Ms. Phillips memory, and to her family! I am DISGUSTED!!!

"he strangled cats in the past"? What? I bet if someone had turned that in that the animal rights group would have been able to get him 20-20 years for animal cruelty. But, this was just a girlfriend, so 10 years should be fine. This is crazy! Voluntary means he meant to do it. He should suffer the same fate as Ms. Phillips. Alcohol is not an excuse, it is an accessory to the crime. I feel badly for her family.

What the hell, he choked the life out of her! He sat there and looked into the eyes of the person he supposedly cared for, and strangled her to death! So alcohol and pills is know an insanity plea! I was all F*&$ED up and didn't know what I was doing, its not my fault! He strangled cats? PSYChO.
DEATH PENALTY!!! Please.
How could anyone think 10 years is a logical punishment for such a heinous crime?

This is sad... he should get the chair!!! He has a long history of run in's with the law and he is always on the wrong side. So we now will have to foot the bill for him... he will get out and who will be next....?

so let me get this straight, since of course I am a Yankee and this guy would be toast if this was NJ, You can get drunk and kill your GF and get less than 10 years, but if your caught with a half ounce of weed you got to jail for 15 years......I got to quit smoking weed and start killing, the punishment is way less......

I think it is really sad that we put such little value in a human life and agree with the comments that he might have gotten more time for the cats. Drugs and alcohol are NO excuse for taking a life. He is obviously a sick butt to have left her in the yard for days and then load her up to go get some booze. What the heck??? I am sorry for her family, that justice was not properly served.

The justice system has gone to hell. This guy gets 10 years for murder and they give someone else life for looking at pictures on the net.

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Scorpio

Don't believe everything you see today and your memory could be playing tricks on you, too. You might remember things in a distorted or false way, through no fault of your own. You may also be reading too much into the situations that are going on around you, making it hard for you to know what's really happening. Try not to make any big decisions today because you simply aren't thinking straight.
