My impression..he was a big talker. He portrayed himself as a person who was wealthy, very successful, very rich, and extremely Important.
In fact he was dirt poor...living in a fantasy world. I read that he had less than $50 in his checking account the day he died and had just bought an airplane in Hattiesburg, Ms the day before his death. He was a player...Gloria was a player..Two people playing each other.

Actually, that is wrong. He was very wealthy..... He did come from Arkansas, but the family wasn't poor, they were well off.
If you read the book, he was portrayed in a very bad light, and she was praised. When in fact, even when the story is told, she was rumored to be in the house when the crime occured.

There will be a new book out soon, of what really happened with details of everyone involved. People believe what they want, and the bad, because its always more exciting than the truth.

You are obviously extremely ignorant, for posting an unenlightened opinion with no merit whatsoever--there's NO WAY you could possibly no such things about him---or you are related to Gloria, the woman who MURDERED him and walked away from it while others took the fall. Either way, you need to be quiet!

You may have attended the trial, but if you were smart, you would know that 1/2 of the things they come up are usually 68% incorrect.
I agree with Shelley! Thanks for posting

Larry Tiffee was murdered by a two-bit hit man from Louisiana. He had been hired by a local guy who was misled by Gloria in to thinking he would get her after the murder. The hit man confessed. So did a side kick he had brought with him from Louisiana and the fellow who arranged it. Gloria got off free as did the wife of the hit man. Nothing about a "mafia" involved. It was simply a small-town Mississippi plot that went wrong.

He didn't buy the plane in Hattiesburg, he bought the plane in Bay Springs, the morning before he was killed, what is now Omni Bank. I was in college, and remember the trials of Gloria. I think a guilty woman walked. The plane had belonged to a highway patrolman-farmer, who died in a wreck, but they think he had a heart attack first.

I was very young when all of this happened. Did she hire someone to kill him? Did she do it? Or am I confused. I was only about 7 so I wondered about this too.
