6 Her own OSBI interview is very telling. This mother is guilty, there is no conspiracy, she got a fair trial, and she will remain in prison for many, many years where she belongs for failing her own child. God Bless Kelsey |

7 The way I look at it, Kelsey is the one who did not recieve the fair trial, and that goes for both sides of the families and all the way around. |

7 This is why the trial should be moved far away where there are normal people...aka not Michelle Reeves. Who know nothing of this case, can not befriend the family and act a fool in front of the cameras and those are the people who think Raye killed Kelsey. Lets take out the false testimony and put in all facts and all witnesses and that includes Judge Key. Lets get a new DA whos next election result will be "based on the outcome of this case"-KB Direct Quote. Lets try to keep the media out of it, which means no more Brittens in the court room, who run out squealing like a pig! And lets not have people holding Kelseys picture above everyones head the entire time. Then I do think Raye can recive a fair trial that she desveres! |

5 Everyone so concerned about whether Raye got a fair trial or not, sad that not that many were concerned whether Kelsey was treated fairly enough to save her little life. Bless her littl heart. |

6 Why pick on Michelle Reeves? Because she is Vocal and Passionate about this case? Maybe because more importantly she cares about the little girl Kelsey who is the most important factor in this entire case and not her self-absorbed (IMO) mother. Oh I forgot, anybody that believes the evidence that proves Raye Dawn's culpability gets her family and supporters wrath. Another thing Kathie was right about when she said,"if you get in their way they are going to blame you." What about the other two members of the Jury that wanted to give her life in prison? What? You don't know about them enough to bash them, huh? I am sure if you did you would. What about the rest of the jurors who wanted to give her more time than they decided? They wanted to give her 30-35 years in prison. More than they ultimately decided. Only 1 or 2 jurors wanted to give her a year in prison because according to them, "A year in prison would feel like an eternity." They all were unanimous in their verdict of Raye Dawn's Guilt the only thing that they had to decide on was the amount of years to give her. 12 Jurors found her guilty. 12 jurors were picked by the prosecution AND the defense. Raye Dawn Smith willingly waived her right to have the jury sequestered. 3 jurors = Life 7 jurors = 30-35 years 2 jurors = 1 year The longer sentences preferred, far outweighed the number of shorter sentences preferred, yet they had to meet in the middle and compromise. 27 years was actually more favorable to Raye Dawn considering what she could have gotten. Fact of the matter is no matter where the trial was moved, what type of jury panel was selected,no matter what reporters reported about the trial,no matter which D.A. prosecuted the case,no matter which attorney represented her,no matter what judge presided, and no matter what witnesses took the stand,I believe the outcome would be the same based on all the evidence. I also believe you all would have a problem with that outcome regardless, and no amount of evidence pertaining to Raye Dawn Smith's guilt will ever waiver you. Enjoy your life and the amount of time your life will be wasted on helping one woman who put herself where she is. I for one choose to listen to Kelsey because she is the "Voice of Truth" in this case. |

6 Raye got a fair trial. There was not ONE person in that court room or outside of it, with a picture of Kelsey, except for stickers on vehicles which included BOTH sides of Kelsey's family. If there had not been reporters in the court room then NO ONE would no what went on in there without waiting for the court transcripts to be released. It is nothing new for media to be allowed in a court room, just because you don't like Britten doesn't mean she shouldnt be allowed in a court room. I'd be willing to bet even if Raye got a new trial in another state, which by the way will NEVER happen because Oklahoma won't pay for that, then Britten will still be there, reporting the TRUTH. Even if you don't like Britten, she tells it like it is. She may not like Raye Dawn but neither do most people in Oklahoma who KNOW the truth and not some sugar-coated BS. How do expect to know what's going on, good or bad, if the media is not there to report it. By the way, Scott Peterson, Timothy McVay and countless other criminals had trials surrounded by NATIONAL media and you don't hear Peterson complaining about the media. That is crappy excuse. I haven't read nor saw one news report that was not true. Their job is to report the facts and that's what they do. It's possible to get a small detail wrong here or there but they have not been unfair to Raye Dawn. Also, I don't believe Key will ever be allowed to testify on Raye's behalf. Judge Vassar was very careful to be fair to Raye Dawn and her attorney during the tial, he more often sided with them instead of the DA. He had to have a good reason backed up by precident or state law to disallow Key's testimony. |

6 Raye Dawn asked for the trial to be moved, she got it moved. She did not testify and I think that really hurt her. If I weren't guilty, you wouldn't be able to keep me from testifying. Problem is, if she had testified, there was a whole lot more that they could bring up (and would have) against her. It would have sunk her. She could have gotten more time and in my opinion, IF she gets another shot at having another trial, she will end up worse off. There are so many people around the Meeker area that are just itching to tell what they know about Raye Dawn Smith that hasn't came out yet. Give them a chance and she'll be in jail for a life time. She knows that. I believe that her mother did not testify favorably for her either. Infact, it made Raye Dawn Smith look worse. I don't believe that I would want Mrs. Smith to testify if I had her as my mother. I also don't believe that they should give her another trial. I'm tired of my hard earned tax money going for people like her to have extra trials when they didn't even try to defend themselves (by testifying on the stand)at their first trial. 27 years from now (26 at this time) I may have more feelings towards Ms. Smith than now. After all, just working in the pastor's office at prison for a year doesn't take away the bad things that she has done and seen and did nothing about. And YES, she could be tried for murder. She hasn't been as of yet! |

6 WRONG!!! It's called double jeopardy. Do you really think Smotherman wouldn't have charged her w/ murder if he could prove it? She can't be tried for murder, she's already been tried. |
