<quoted text>"there is a small percentage of them that are good guys"? Dude, this is not the first time you're spewed hate on LEOs here, I'm assuming you must have had a run-in with the law, because an self-proclaimed educated person like yourself should know better, than what you're expressing on here. Yes, there are bad cops, just like there are bad "everything" else, stock brokers, doctors, lawyers, even priests, and pastors, etc., but for you to refer a LEO as a "pig" is just stupid, and even more stupid for you to think that there is only a "small percentage" of good guys on LEO. smh.
When a cop pulls me over for going 1 mph faster than he is, just because he can...yeah, there are bad cops out there, A LOT of them. The mere fact he felt this was acceptable, shows that it's the system, not an individual.

When cops threaten me and my loved ones WITHOUT JUSTIFICATION, it's the system, NOT a few bad ones.

As I stated, if they (or you) don't like it, they can change the way they do business. Until then, I will be amused every time I hear or read about one going down.

Does that mean I want it to happen? No. But I don't care when it does.

Oh yeah...

When pigs flat out LIE about a traffic violation, just to generate revenues it's about the system that allows them to get away it. It's not a few "bad apples".

Don't believe that goes on? Then you're even more clueless than you appear, and that's PRETTY CLUELESS!!

Damn, you're this butthurt over a speeding ticket? I could probably understand why you felt this way if you were Kelly Thomas, but a speeding ticket? Damn, dude, I was arrested and faced county jail time once because a cop was "having a bad day" (his admission later), and I am nowhere near as bitter as you are. Why? Because the justice system worked.

A speeding ticket? Ever heard of "talking your way out of a ticket"? I've done that more than a few times. By your writings here about LEO, I wonder if you're the kind of guy that talks his way INTO tickets. You may not agree with it, but that's the way the game is played.

Last time I was stopped, I was with the family in Big Bear. The deputy ran me and came back with a no-bail warrant hit on my name (for those that know me, my name is not all-that-common). He had me get out and go to the front of his car, but because I had been respectful and polite and honest in our conversation prior to that, he didn't cuff me or put me in the back of the car while he investigated further. Turned out the CPEM they were looking for was significantly shorter and significantly rounder than I. He didn't cut me a ticket for the initial reason for stopping me, and gave me directions on how to get down off the mountain while avoiding traffic.

A speeding ticket? Jeez-o.

Never mentioned speeding tickets. C'mon, your reading is getting as bad as Rob's.

Speeding tickets, I accept with no problem.

The jackass who pulled me over for doing 46 in a 45? Do you really think he was going to write that one?! Even he knew he'd look like an ass. He pulled me over just because he could. THAT is the problem...power abusing jerks, which virtually all of them are.

There have been many others over the years, and I'm not just talking about the ones I have encountered. I'm just very well informed. I realize most people like to ignore what they do. They have an attitude of, "if they mess with you, you must've asked for it". Which is just another way of stating what ignorant fools they are.

I'm OK with people being ignorant about it. I wish I didn't know as much as I do. As they say, ignorance is bliss.

The mere fact Kelly Thomas would even happen shows that the system has taught cops that type of behavior is acceptable.

Did you hear them yelling out, "Stop resisting! Stop resisting!"

He wasn't resisting.

They did that because they didn't know they were being filmed. They learn to do that because they think their audio recording is the only evidence that will be admitted. When they bring someone in all f'd up, they will point to the audio as evidence the guy "asked for it. He was resisting."

But live on in ignorance. That's OK.

Back to sports! GO CLIPPERS GO DODGERS!! GO KINGS!!

Just curious, recent grad (2000+) or "older" grad? The way you write about this has a certain quality to it I attribute to the "young activist" type that sees everything as black-and-white. Or am I heading down the wrong path here?

I cant speak for a multitude of countries, but my own personal experience is that various law enforcement in the United States are the most politically correct I have experienced.

On average, Police in Brazil kill an average of three people per day in Rio de Janeiro alone. That is a pretty astounding figure that speaks volumes about the violent relationship that exists between civilians and police in Brazil.

Although violence by and against police is not unheard of here in the U.S., citizens of the United States should be grateful for the nature of conflict between police and the street here. Even the most violent neighborhoods in the U.S. do not compare to the type of mayhem that slum neighborhoods in other parts of the world experience every day.

I for the most part feel protected here and that the police has my best interest regarding safety in mind. Believe me, NOT the same in other parts of the world!!!

Okay, off my soapbox and back to a lighter mindset...

Cops threatened you and your loved ones?? unless you were packing some heat, or if you acted crazy towards the cops, and they felt threatened by you and your loved ones, I don't believe the cops would be threatening your family...so no, I don't believe your story.

As I stated, if they (or you) don't like it, they can change the way they do business. Until then, I will be amused every time I hear or read about one going down.

Really? you were given a freaking citation for speeding, and because you had to pay $280.00 it warrants their death? it warrants their children's mom or dad's lives being taken away by some low life criminal??
Does that mean I want it to happen? No. But I don't care when it does.

Wow!!
You bash me for being judgmental towards OJ Simpson, despite all the evidence, yet you think MOST cops are "pigs". My niece is a Police Officer, and has pulled out children from a burning car twice, and has performed CPR and kept one other person alive until Paramedics got there, do you think the family of those people share your view? do you think my niece is a "pig"? My niece has been attacked by men twice her size when responding to calls of domestic violence, did she asked for it? I don't think so.
I have Similar stories I can share from my nephew in El Monte PD.

I have been arrested three times, once for DUI 17 years ago, I was only half a block from my house, I pleaded to officer to give me a break, since I could walk to my house in less than 2 minutes, NO LUCK...that event changed the way I do things, I learned from it and it made me a better person.

I was arrested for domestic violence twice, both times I was innocent and never charged, because I proved that I was the victim not the aggressor (just like Nicola Dragovic), but the cops would have none of it, they took me in and those arrests show on my record, I have reasons to feel bitter towards cops a lot more than you do...but feeling glad when one of them goes down is something that is beyond my comprehension.

I'm judgmental?? BUAHAHAHAHAHA don't bite your tongue, trojan.

Dude you're borderline psychotic, first you wish death on Bob Smith, because he's talking crap about USC, just I do...now you're saying that just because a cop gives you a citation, you would celebrate when he goes "down". really? yet you are willing to have a murderer of two people over for thanksgiving dinner with your family...my gut feeling tells me that YOU and murderers share the same mentality, you are haters of justice, and if having OJ for dinner teaches you a thing or two about how to eliminate someone that did you wrong, then it was all worth your time. As for the first part, I don't care if you believe me. It happened and it was NOT justified. Even though I put that part in caps, you still didn't comprehend it.

Warrant their death? Perhaps not. But their abusing their authority the way they do leads me to not give a damn when one gets whacked. As I stated, I'm just sitting back watching the game.

As for your niece, don't be dumb enough to think you have ANY idea what she is like on the job. You hear one side of her stories.

It may be different in other parts of the world and heck, maybe in other parts of the country. But here in So Cal, cops are legal gangbangers.

The mere existence of the "3,000 Boys" in LA County jail illustrates it. Most of the sheriffs who are in it have their gang name tattooed on themselves. It may have never been brought to the public's attention had it not been for that Christmas dinner brawl at the Quiet Cannon a year and a half ago.

I knew long before that, that they were nothing but thugs. The "3,000 Boys" existence didn't surprise me one bit. But some of the ignorant fools who still think they're the good guys? They were shocked!

Let's get back to football! Only 107 days to go!!!

We got there because someone says all of the accusations levied against JW were never "proven". Yet that same person refers to OJ as a murderer.

He has one standard for Bruins and another standard for Trojans. For Bruins, it has to be proven. For Trojans, it merely has to be accusations, but not a conviction.

Daily Horoscope for May 20

Taurus

If a friend has been bugging you recently, you are likely to have a few sharp words with them today. However, least said soonest mended, so don't labour the point or turn them against you. Besides, you have better things to do with your time now, such as taking part in a big gathering of likeminded people or having a long chat with one special person.
