What a circus. Same old samo. You nominate me, and I'll nominate you. Perry and Hobbs, both losers. Jeff nominated by his wife, she must need more money. Same Tribal Council members nominated. Didn't do anything but show our young folks, its good to be a drunk and still hold office, take Tribal monies to squirel away and blatantly get away with it. And SUPER LOSER FROST, didn't and can't do anything, must have paid the idiot to nominate him. Wonder why his wife didn't jump up and nominate him? Probably can't stand the truth of her loser husband, and embarrass herself, if that be possible.
Well another 3 years to take the Tribe further into the toilet that they apparently love being in. Sure does lend truth to their reputation the other Tribes say about them.

It is a sad state of affairs when people sit back and let things run the same ol, same ol.
Don't worry, things are changing from the outside in. If the people within cannot make things right then the ones who really care will.
I really did not expect any other outcome.
It would take a real leader and a real desire for the current conditions to change. Best of luck, I am sad for you but remember If you are Modoc you still can support The Modoc Nation. We are making sure things are done right!

If you wanted to run, have someone nominate you. If you don't vote then don't whine. If you can make things better, then do something.

You should stopwalking, sit down and look at the real picture. Janice Miller did that 6 years ago.. The rest of the council, all 9 of them shut her down on everything she brought up that was wrong. One person can't do anything. You need support from the other council members, at lest 4 to 6 that want to improve the Tribe and at least be open to ideas and live up to the "Code of Ethics" that they supposedly took. And that may never happen as evidenced by the current nominees. Thats reality!

I did that the last elecion. We have new faces on the Council. We need to push for more new faces this election. I will never again vote for any of those who served with Joe Kirk and violated the Constitution of the Tribe. How Jeff Mitchell gets in every time, I don't know. He does not represent me or what I believe is best for the tribe.

It is beyond my understanding that people were lead like sheep by Mitchell and that path has never proven any successful worth!
I think it is illegal to have traded your water rights for money for land in a legislation!
Because your water right is not a commodities water right but a resource water right! It would have to be quantified in an ajudication to estimate value!
So if your trading water to give to agriculture it would be easy to estimate its value with just a single tool!! How much is the cost of an acre foot of water! That's how California agriculture pays for their water! They would have to pay for millions every time they need water for their crops!
So first of all its illegal to sell your water until....,,
And your doing a one shot deal! Not something paying you dividends until time immemorial!
And then you were brainwashed with the symbolism of jobs and salmon!
Spent 800,000 for crater lake mill! If you have the most senior water right in the basin, Why didn't you ask for agricultural land! You could have have had one hell of a community garden feeding your people with healthy sustainable fruits and vegetables and livestock! And have a bunch of jobs with flowers and garden plants as only one example! Instead you chose the Mazama tree farm! That's jobs for a few without benefitting the majority! At least a community garden with fruit vegetables and live stock would have been feeding people 5 years ago and not waiting for 1 salmon in 2020??

Hello Modoc People. I am a Modoc woman who could not afford to come up for the nominations. I am not willing to let things lie. Get on a committee and let our Modoc voices to be heard and the changes made by us from within.
That is what I am going to do. Join me? If you work from within then maybe Modoc representation would be less scarce. I have done a lot of work on how we are related to one another so if you want to help your family, your tribe, your heritage, then please help us to make powerful changes. Change the balance of power by becoming a balanced power.

It would be all fine and dandy,if things were fair across the board. 150 years hasn't taught you anything about how out numbered the Modocs and Yahooskins are in any vote? Nothing will change unless a New Constitution is written up and New Government officials elected. Have a way that all three tribes are represented equally. I can tell you that I don't think it will ever happen, it's a dream for those of you stuck in that situation. I can see it is very hard for those who are mixed. The only possible way at all to even things out would be to open enrollment with all 3 tribes and have no blood quantums at all. That way the ones who are mixed with white and other tribes could vote and hopefully level the playing field. Again, I don't think it can ever happen with the same people running the show. This is why the only way the Modocs and Yahooskins can get any fair representation is to go on their own. I know it's change but it's what our family members died for! Our own freedom!

First off not all modoc's are in the office getting services. Second if you are refering to Health Services anyone who is Native American can receive services from the Health clinic.(As long as the K-tribe continues to receive federal funding, they have to help all natives) As far as what I have or haven't done doesn't effect you unless you are enrolled in The Modoc Nation. What is happening is that much is being done to help the Modoc people, to rebuild our culture, to rebuild our tribe, to restore faith in our people. Many have been turned away over the years and it was a horrible shameful thing to do. We are letting people know that they are still cared for that they mean something to the Creator and all our brothers and sisters. That they should be proud to be Modoc! We are not gone, even though many have tried and tried to destroy us! We are making a strong comeback and we will no longer allow the Genocide to continue. We will no longer allow anyone to tell us who we are and what we are.

Like to see Tribal council who's spouses and family members don't have big administration positions that don't deserve the position like the vice chairs and Mitchell's wife controls admin. Along with treasurer family! Secretary! Chairman! Then the EDC and family connections! Can we get some new blood, less nepotism and people who want to do spring cleaning! We know the problems!
These people just protect their jobs and have agendas that have not progressed the Tribe! Look at their promises last election! It's a joke!
And Joe Kirks administration made the tribes constitution a joke!
You couldn't possibly want the same???

I'm not talking about the people who have some modoc in them but are far from representing the interest of the Modoc people, I'm talking about a fair representation in voting and representing the Modocs & Yahooskins. This means the votes of the few would represent equal votes cast by the Klamath people. You must admit that going behind closed doors and making a deal to give up the rights of the Modocs in Califorina to ever go up against the Government is not representing the Modoc tribe's best interest. But you can darn well be sure that the Klamath tribe had it written up not to effect anything reqarding their homeland. Then they get the tree farm,(what a great deal). Again how is this not breaking the K-tribe's own constitution?
If there was a fair vote you know that the Modoc would not trade away any of their Water, Hunting & Gathering rights. Besides who asked The Modoc Nation about this deal? We have over 200 declaration signers stating they are in agreement with us.

Presently it's about qualified, caring people, who know the problems the people face! And those who know and care about the constitution! So that the business and resolutions can be evaluated and corrected to know why this tribe is in the mess it is!!
Representation of the general council!!!!! What Frost and gentry promised and DID NOT DELIVER! Tired of the photo sessions and the sermon on the hagelstein mount! The hypocrisy of prayer! And using the Creators name in vain!!!

There is no empathy in this Tribe. As a whole all this Tribe is about is personal wealth at the expense of others. Only those with their own agenda step up and run for office. The true membership doesn't give a shit about the Tribe since they just sit back and let what happens happen.

You deserve the shoddy leadership that you vote into office.

You will never learn.
