Last year my 16 year old son told me he was gay. Now he says he wants me to buy him a vibrator of all things!! Is this normal? Would I be an unfit parent if I went to Lion's Den and bought him one? Please help!!!

I say its better than them going and having multi partners. Its normal for most kids at that age to be into things like this. Be glad also that your child came to you with this most kids cant do this due to there parents reactions. My opinion on this is...your child was honest with you which most arent anymore and he must feel comfortable to ask you for one that I would appreciate his honesty and get him one..better than being with someone at this age

first i would ask him why he is gay.. second i would ask him if thats what he really wants... and third i would tell him if he reeeallly wants one to wait till hes able to buy it on his own. otherwise you would be condoning to his sin.. yes SIN.. now if that doesnt bother you your an unfit mother anyways and should proably just buy it for him.. so you dont have to hear the sissy tampertantrum

Kinda like why are you ignorant....juss because you are. Nothing wrong with someone bein gay just because you dont like it doesnt mean you have to judge. And you are a sin for talking so much shit about others that it will come back on ya at some point...burn

You're lucky enough to have a child who willingly wants to be open with you and come to you about shit. Don't do anything to fuck that up! Buy him the vibrator, there are much worse requests that a child could have! Being gay isn't a sin, and it isn't a choice. So few christians realize that their rules don't apply to the entire population.... Keep your religion to yourself.

I think it is very inappropriate for a parent to buy their child a sex toy..........regardless of sexual orientation. You have to draw the line somewhere..........if he came to you and told you that he wanted to try heroin or crack..........would you go out and buy it for him just because he was honest with you????????

And if she doesnt help him out odds are he will go through several partners to fulfill his wants at least a toy does not spread stds with drugs you get them counceling bein gay is who he is it doesnt need fixed

Like it or not, Susie is right. And she is living in the real world unlike some of you. Most teens these days ARE aware of and interested in trying these kinds of things, girls AND boys, gay AND straight alike. Just look this sh*t up. It's not all that difficult to find. A 2009 study published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine found that most women and nearly half of all men surveyed ages 18-60 in America have used a vibrator at some point in their lives. The majority of the men surveyed said they used them on their female partners, but 17% of the men questioned did admit to using a vibrator during solo masterbation!...and that would include an awful lot of straight guys here people. And if 17% of these guys ADMITTED to using a vibrator, how many were too embarrassed to admit to it??!! I'd venture to say quite a few. Among teens and young people these days, I'd say the percentage who use a vibrator is far higher... with all the stuff out there on the Internet and tv now. As to whether any parent should buy something like this for their daughter OR son, that's a bit tougher to say. Maybe it depends on the situation, your child's level of maturity, and the kind ofrelationship you have with her or him. I don't have any good answers here but at least the conversation has been started.

Thank you nickK......I just wish people wasnt so against same sex relationships. The people who criticize others dont know the reason behind people being this way and just wish this world wasnt so damn judgemental. I would be floored if my child was able to have this open of a relationship with me. This is something most parents wish to have with there child and prolly never will have due to most kids bein judged. I think people need to get over there thoughts about gay ppl and see there just like everyone else just choose same sex thats all and if you dont like it put your nose back on your fuckin face and turn your head. Ive learned gay people are the most friendliest people you will meet.....the ones who judge them are just jealous they arent happy as they are and most likely know they never will be so judemental people GET OVER IT OR SHUT THE HELL UP ALREADY....

Wow matt don't hate because you can't have that kind of openness with your parents. You probably don't know who your father is because your mom's a wh*re!!!!

EVERY teenager, REGARDLESS OF SEXUAL ORIENTATION, needs to be counseled about safe sex..........after all, I doubt very much that he plans to rely on the vibrator for the rest of his life....

Yes Matt, we are very proud of our son. People would never know he's gay just by looking at him or talking to him. He plays football. He goes hunting with his dad. He does well in school and has a lot of friends. All the girls go crazy over him. My son is just like all the other young men his age in every way except that he says he's just attracted to other guys. He says we're the only ones he feels comfortable telling about this right now so we're just trying to be there for him as best we can and do the right thing. I'm just not sure what to do about this vibrator thing though. He wouldn't dare talk to his dad about this (and I promised not to either) so I'm more or less on my own here. So to everyone, thank you for all your advice and opinions. I'll carefully consider anything any of you have to say until I'm ready to make an informed decision.

Mom1 do what you think is right...none of these people on here know your son nor do they know you so do what you think is best. And im glad to hear your proud of who your son is turning out to be...supportive parents like you should come more often......to many ppl judge for ppl they know being gay and it should be supported not make these ppl feel they arent worth anything...

Daily Horoscope for June 3

Virgo

Life catches you unawares today but for once you don't really mind. A friend is likely to ring up with an exciting suggestion or you could receive a spur of the moment invitation that's too good to refuse. An interesting encounter is also on the cards, especially when you're brought together through unusual circumstances.
