If you like fast food...
Did you really mean "restaurant"? That's yet another question.
My "outsider" friends seem to like Sumburger and Casa Del Taco. For actual dining we stick to Columbus offerings, too many to list. Folks laugh at Cowtown, no finer dining anywhere else stateside (with exception to fresh seafood). Columbus Ohio is a great place to eat.

What kind of food are you looking for? Pizza - Check out jerry's, the east location has better pizza than the west location but is not much for atmosphere, Hook's and Giovanni's are also good choices Burger or steak- Dakota's is my favorite especially for the price just don't load up on rolls with cinnamon butter before your meal comes. Old Canal Smokehouse recently just reopened they have great bbq brisket and pulled pork. Chicken- Rooster's is great, the dock on water also has good wings. Hope this helps, Tried to come up with some that weren't chain restaurants that you can find all over the U.S.

Sumburger is overpriced and doen't live up to the legend or the hype. And no, their burgers were NOT the size of manhole covers years ago when you were a kid.
