I don't know about you, but I enjoy people who purposely choose something and are passionate about it, and manifest goodness vs someone becoming a member of a club and sitting back. Even if something is not my personal choice, I respect a person who finds fulfillment in a chosen path and really lives, carpe diem!

The amazing thing is this. You can actually find a few of those kind of people in virtually every persuasion.

With this in mind, the next question is this; what truth is universal?

There may never be a Universal Truth that would reach beyond the here and now. The pursuit of knowledge is much greater and beneficial then “reaching the truth”. Even if certain truths are found, the interpretation of its application is subjective. So without the pursuit or path to the truth, people will just take what they believe to be true, concoct a meaning behind it and proselytize it as universal. True Science is the purist of knowledge pursuits, in that it seeks what is true without giving it meaning. Religion dictates the meaning, regardless if it is true. Philosophy plays with the hypotheticals in-between.

My own mother tells others how my passionate friends led me to stand up against the Mormon Prophet and other leaders for their illegal and unethical actions. It is true however, that many of my passionate friends made some bad decisions. I am grateful they showed me where many traps were. I really could care less about what club a person chooses, as long as they can respect others, and build better lives. I will take a passionate person any day, over a lemming.

I don't fault anyone else for the choices I have made! I alone, am responsible.

I appreciate my mother providing the contrast for others to be able to consider. My father puts forth an idea he undoubtably has been told to share. He infers that when Mormon history is challenged, that the war continues. From my perspective nothing could be further from the truth. Weighing history allows us opportunity to clarify and understand more than we would if we just ignored it. This is a hard and challenging place for a Mormon to operate in. History is told to them to be less important now that it becomes more challenging. I am passionate about these things if you did realize it by now!

Your boredom threshold is lower than usual this today so don't be surprised if you start to feel restless. Ideally, you should alter your usual routine and do something totally different, because that will certainly keep you interested in what's going on around you.
