Full story: Chico Enterprise-Record

Anybody without a recent drug felony can dig themselves up out of the gutter anytime they want. Food stamps + financial aid + student loans = the easy life. You have to be a major idiot if you can't survive doing that. It is sad that the people that get paid to help the homeless (specially kids) don't motivate more people in this direction. The government and banks are printing up money way fast. GO AND GET YOURSELF SOME OF IT YOU DUMB LAZY BUM!

too bad bums don't have computers

How much grant money did these nincompoops get for this very false study? People are homeless because these stupid government morons take money out of the economy and stick it in their own pockets for any fraud reason they can in the name of social justice. Go away! You are 99% of the problem.

Back in the early 1970s, I worked through a temp job agency near Skid Row in Oakland to make some college money. The temp agency opened at 6 am sharp, and the winos would line up, sober and ready to work.

The manager always sent them to the factory jobs and other good paying jobs first, because "they need the money worse than you do."

I still got plenty of work though. And I asked these homeless guys why they lived like that. They said that by sobering up to work two days a week, they'd get enough money for wine and the flophouse for a week. "We like drinking wine."

They hung out on the sidewalks of South Broadway, near the freeway, and drank all day in front of the pawn shops and missions.

They chose the lifestyle.

Where is the big story about Chico State University and the Center for Applied and Professional Ethics intervening regarding seven dead students in 36 months possibly eight from poly-drug overdoses.

The Universities own students dropping dead takes a back seat to the homeless problem.

Must be more grant money available to fight homelessness than preventing student deaths.

Applied and Professional Ethics, right. It good to know the Universities priorities have not changed.$$$$$$$$$

The University and the City Council (telling the police) are burying these stories as fast as they happen.

How often do you see posts here saying the student parties are NOT out of control?

You are fighting an organized public relations team.

"BINGO"

They are spin doctors deluxe.

I say dead students they say dead addicts.

Very soon the curtain will fall and the lost children will have justice! Very soon the condemnation felt by family members of an addicted student will be felt by those who rebuked a dead child. Shame, Shame, Shame on those who hide behind the tainted vale of bureaucratic hypocrisy when students are dying.

I hope they have an extremely organized public relation team, there going to need it.

My LORD don't you have any sympathy for these people getting grants to help the home less? It could be that the homeless do not want to deal with those who are contributing to their plight.

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Aquarius

Keep calm and all will be well. You're feeling slightly fraught because there are so many demands on your time, and it won't help if you're trying to juggle some last-minute chores with some fun-filled social events. Get others to lend you a hand, or tell yourself that perfection is not an option right now and that you'll have to scale down your preparations accordingly.
