WHO'S GREEDY? Obama Gave 1% to Charity, Romney Gave 15%

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and his wife Michelle gave $10,772 of the $1.2 million they earned from 2000 through 2004 to charities, or less than 1 percent, according to tax returns for those years released today by his campaign.

The Obamas increased the amount they gave to charity when their income rose in 2005 and 2006 after the Illinois senator published a bestselling book. The $137,622 they gave over those two years amounted to more than 5 percent of their $2.6 million income.

Romney charitable contributions

Tax year Taxable income Charitable donations Donations as % of income
2010 $21.7 million $2.98 million 13.73%
2011 (est)$20.9 million $4 million 19.14%

Once again you are comparing apples to oranges...LOL

Obama is worth between $3 to $10 million dollars.

Romney's fortune is between $200 $500 million dollars.

Obama paid taxes at a 25% tax rate Romney paid 14%

More importantly, Romney is a Mormon, Obama is not.

Mormons are required by their religion to tithe, or hand over 10% of their income to their church.

What are the Rich And Greedy? They are in government and all the people that work for them are the children of the rich and greedy. What this title isn't saying is the 'Rich and Greedy' have law making ability, they control the military and regulate you that aren't in government, your life. The rich and greedy are those that can take from you without producing, working or having any concern for you, your family or your rights. The Rich and Greedy, are Liberals. I would rather be screwed by a good business person where at least I have a chance than by a law making government that will just steal it from me.

I don't care if you mentioned Buffet or not, I did to disprove your theory.

and I never said mormons or anyone will get kicked out of anywhere if they do not tithe.

Also, in case you have not figured it out yet, religion is just another way of controlling people's minds, no different than the way conservative T bagging minds are being controlled, so it is conceivable that Romney feels he will be viewed unfavorably by his church if he does not contribute the prescribed amount.

Forget about taxing the rich, how about if all the federal employees, politicians included, paid the taxes they already owe.

"A new report just out from the Internal Revenue Service reveals that 36 of President Obama's executive office staff owe the country $833,970 in back taxes. These people working for Mr. Fair Share apparently haven't paid any share, let alone their fair share.

Previous reports have shown how well-paid Obama's White House staff is, with 457 aides pulling down more than $37 million last year. That's up seven workers and nearly $4 million from the Bush administration's last year.

Nearly one-third of Obama's aides make more than $100,000 with 21 being paid the top White House salary of $172,200, each.

The IRS' 2010 delinquent tax revelations come as part of a required annual agency report on federal employees' tax compliance. Turns out, an awful lot of folks being paid by taxpayers are not paying their own income taxes.

The report finds that thousands of federal employees owe the country more than $3.4 billion in back taxes. That's up 3% in the past year.

That scale of delinquency could annoy voters, hard-pressed by their own costs, fears and stubbornly high unemployment despite Joe Biden's many promises.

The tax offenders include employees of the U.S. Senate who help write the laws imposed on everyone else. They owe $2.1 million. Workers in the House of Representatives owe $8.5 million, Department of Education employees owe $4.3 million and over at Homeland Security, 4,697 workers owe about $37 million. Active duty military members owe more than $100 million.

The Treasury Department, where Obama nominee Tim Geithner had to pay up $42,000 in his own back taxes before being confirmed as secretary, has 1,181 other employees with delinquent taxes totaling $9.3 million."

Just as much as the Mormons are. If you really tried you could find many Biblical passages dealing with tithing.

You seem to be inferring that charitable donations to a private charity are better used than those to a religious organization.
What do you think churches do with their charitable income? Much of it does go to the church operation, yes there are some shady church heads living very well off of their members just as there are some shady charitable foundations, but a lot of that money makes it back into the community for those in need. I know several people who when down and out received financial support from the Mormon church. I might add with no strings attached.

I am a Pagan, a godless heathen if you will, so you probably know much more about about tithing then i do, I just do not recollect having to give 10% of my income to the church during my brainwashed days...

I am not inferring anything, just like you, I am well aware there are good and bad people in every organization, charitable or not.

Yeah, well, I attended Christian church myself when my parents forced me to to as a kid, and I attended the prayers , that did not make me a Christian, but it made me a crooked entrepreneur of sorts as I would pocket the coins my parents gave me to donate in the convenient envelope provided by the Church.
